Red State --
Really liked this. Could be a little disturbing to some people, but is
under the "horror" category. I think it was very well done. Liked
that at a few points it takes hard-left-turn where you thing, "I
didn't see that coming." Mixed with some political/social commentary
themes = a winner for me.

about an orphanage for AIDS orphans started by a South African couple who give up a fairly affluent life to help these kids. Really crazy stuff. They are taking care of this children who were raped at very young ages, because it is believe by some that they can cure their AIDS by having sex with a virgin. There are as many AIDS orphans in Africa as there are children under 5 in the US!

Apollo 18- Awesome horror/scifi movie done with a small budget. Definitely check it out.
Margin Call- Really great movie, highly recommend. NOT an action movie. If you don't like subtle dramas, skip it.
The Conspirator- Really great period piece. Thumbs up.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes- Not a bad reboot. Worth watching.
Devil's Double-Not bad, but pretty brutal. I recommend checking out if you can handle some ugliness.
The Eagle- Had some good scenes. OK movie if you have the time.
Source Code- Waste of time, stale plot line, thumbs down.
Book of Eli- Sucks, waste of time.
Larry Crowne- Gut wrenchingly awful. Don't waste the time and energy

I love the scene in the trailer, where Driver takes the bullet they gave to the kid....and utilizes a hammer.

Hard to watch because of the awful things it depicts and because we all know these things happen. Not Hollywood or feel good or politically correct or pandering or gratuitous. How can people do these things to other people? Can love be felt by or for horrible people?

I saw the first 15 minutes and stopped watching...I've become quite squeamish and sensitive to violence and stopped watching thinking it just wasn't worth the anxiety. Does it continue to be very violent? I guess that's dumb question if it's labeled horror...

In the Land of Blood and Honey. Directed by Angelia Jolie. Authentic. Wait until the right time, but watch it.
Hard to watch because of the awful things it depicts and because we all know these things happen. Not Hollywood or feel good or politically correct or pandering or gratuitous. How can people do these things to other people? Can love be felt by or for horrible people?
Props to Angelina- wow.
The Whistleblower is also interesting and deeply disturbing about sex trafficking in post war Bosnia.
