Not as dumb as my question....do you have to watch your phone charge or do they charge it and give you a ticket to claim it? I hate having to run my truck for an hour each day in the campgrounds to charge my Iphone and Ipad but I sure the f don't want to watch them charge for an hour either.

i have always seen folks hanging out, waiting for their stuff to charge
*I* wouldnt leave my cell or electronic device there unattended
and i imagine they dont want to be responsible for other peoples expensive electronics, either
but that is just a guess...
glad that service is there, though!

yup
car charger is key
just dont forget to run the car for a bit if you do a lot of charging
and for the love of god, keep your emergency brake on!
(saw someone knock their suv into drive one year while they had their car on, charging stuff
)
or, so as i do...come fully charged and then shut off your phone!
you can turn it on to check it once a day, but do you REALLY need it?

I think this is what I'll be doing since my car outlets are not the always on type. The only sucky thing about turning off my phone is that I was planning to use it as my camera since it's better than my real camera. I'm currently testing my battery life in airplane mode . . .
Screw it. I'll just use my real camera and turn off my phone. I never take that many pictures anyway - I get sidetracked.

The TeePee? Prolly will not set it up. Can't miss BANNED CAMP. Right near the Brick Shithouse. Giant white EZUP, although not as big as last year's....YAY! Me and my "assets" will be sure to visit this year.
Do you still have that funky looking tent?
Plenny BigDaddy 'Canes (not as sweet, but same amount of punch). Also doesn't leave a red tongue residue.

Hello everyone, this is a little late in responding, but I'm the Solar Bus guy so I can answer for future reference. The solar powered charging station at the bus is essentially a bunch of outlets that you can use for just about anything. Charge your phone... plug in a laptop computer.... plug in an air compressor to fill your air bed.... Here are a few notes:
-- we have AC (household) outlets, DC (car) outlets, and USB ports for charging.
-- we do NOT have chargers or cords. we have a couple iPhone chargers and a couple universal USB micro cords, but you should not count on these being available. bring your charger or USB cord.
-- We do not take numbers and we are not responsible for your phones or chargers. We just don't have the people/staff to oversee this. The outlets are yours to use, but we recommend that you stay in sight of your phone. We have a comfortable area for you to sit and hang out while waiting. We have a chess board and the Grateful Dead board game you can play while you're waiting and we even have a library with a variety of books if you want to read while you wait. Having said that, some people do risk it and leave their phone for a little while. In the 7 years we've been doing this at the Vibes only one phone has disappeared. It was an iPhone and it was this year and I felt really bad for the person. We have charged thousands of phones over the years and that's the only time it's happened. So even though it's very rare, theft is possible so we recommend you stick around. Bring a book, game, or something to do.
I hope the charging station has been useful and helpful to folks. If you appreciate it being there please let the Vibes people know so we can continue to come back and provide this service. There's a feedback form right on the home page.
Onward.......
