Having TLE, as well, all this SUDEP stuff is kind of ... but I believe Julia would want life's party to go on as soon as, and as much as, possible. It's certainly a fine argument for living for the moment, as she did so well. That tradition will continue.

Given the way death took her, it was in the midst of living. sudden-ness is quite a shock for family & friends, but we go on, and as it is said, may she be blessed of memory, consoling us in our loss in a spirit form, as we console those who lose a loved one.

I never got to meet her, yet I feel touched by the sense of humor she added to threads I was involved in...as much as I might like to be at the memorial, it is unlikely. So I will say, I'm with you all in spirit.

Savor the 'visitations' that happen.

I have been daydreaming about food: we, of course, should have holyguacamole, smarties, cute little lunch plates and lasagna sandwiches and broccoli dishes and whatever croutons and vegan salad dressing recipe I saw this week-end that she had posted. ffta

I am sure whatever shows up will be just fine but thought I would share my daydreams because they made me smile.

jazzfest in nola was one of the last places i got to hang with julia in 3d, and i'd like to think she'd approve of my trip to the crescent city. many glasses will be raised in her honor and memory.

i'll bring some minis if i can find them. i'm thinking now i might have tossed them. the minis are weird, like little drops of chocolate covered in the candy coating. sometimes there's more coating than chocolate. they're weird.

My daughter found them in a Saratoga on a shopping trip last month and texted me a photo, all excited. I would just go look for them there but time is an issue.

I'm afraid we won't be able to come. Sadly, my sister-in-law's sister died in her sleep last weekend so there are family issues being delt with.

So, dinner. Something in Saratoga. There are so many places. The Parting Glass comes to mind. They have some yummy tavern food and lots of beers for those who like beer.
