Are the 5$ dollar hot showers worth it? And are they individual shower stalls or group?
Thanks in advance for your guidance:))

buy a solar shower and take a leisurely shower thats FREE!

believe it or not, if you fill it and lay it on your car top to get warmed by the sun, your only worry is that sometimes the water will get TOO hot
also good for washing dishes and hands, etc.

NO GOOD, i tell ya... stay away from them at all costs!!!!! ok, that's just some joking from the occifer.. just tryin to keep the line down so when i walk up and cut line with VIP pass.. you all don't hiss at me and call me bad names.

last year there were shower trailers in west end too, also 5 bucks, those were private stalls...never been vip before, never used the showers over there, doing both this year, not that it helps your situation

The ocean offers free community bathing, I did that last year but for some reason going to enjoy the VIP showers this year.

Tyedyedee, yeah those solar showers are great, used them for years until someone with sticky fingers stole them from my boat. Some of them even include privacy curtains so people can enjoy a nude showering experience.

Private stalls and generally plenty of hot water for a nice shower.

i've heard good things about the trailer showers - like, go in all bedraggled and pop out feeling all shiny like a superhero kind of good. :)

You want a private shower? Run up into the shower area and talk to yourself and say repeatedly how you just want to come down from the bath salts ..folks will scatter.. They don't want face-bite

Just remember salt water equals crotch rot...don't forget gold bond powder. Also, the free showers at mid-west beach were not that bad, even though 2 of them didn't work...people were cool though and didn't linger in there too longPosted Image

IMHO, the showers are well worth it, especially if its crazy hot like last year. A cool shower really helps keep your core temp on an even keel. Plus, being able to wash the festival grit off each day feels wonderful!! :)

No Eco, I'm not making it up...If I don't thoroughly rinse my groin, underarms, inner thighs and buttocks with FRESH water after swimming in the ocean I get a rash which is very painful. Don't know if it's only me but I make sure to rinse after swimming in the sound, THEN the Gold Bond goes on.Posted Image

Jimbo, it might only be you...not sure. At Vibes and at several other places I've gone days only taking baths in the ocean and never once got that. With last year's heat groin rashes (chafing or whatever it's called) were common though. Also, I got one hell of an infection on an open cut in that sound....showers only this year if I have cuts.

i don't use the shower truck anymore, apart from all the Fucking going on in those things. 2 years ago. i stepped into a stall and missed a water bottle sized turd by about an inch while stepping into the stall. phewww, lucky i missed it or else, paying five dollars to step in human feces would have ruined my weekend.

Meh, I don't usually bother showering, but then im also not a person who showers very often in general. One thing I want to let everyone know though is that the LI Sound is one of the most polluted bodies of water around so I HIGHLY discourage anyone going in the water. In fact, those rashes that some of you are talking about might have been caused by the insane amount of bacteria in the water. I got such a bad rash from the Sound one time that I had to go to the hospital and they gave me steroids! So yea, don't go in the water!
