So finally I was able to make it through the entire thread. Wow is all I can say. Mike, those words mean a lot to me, even though I always knew them to be true in your heart. Julia spoke fondly of you, and I know how special your relationship was.
To all the vibes people I met "in passing", I remember you all and I look forward to hugs when I see you next.
Now, as the person who knew Julia the best, I will be making every effort to pay proper tribute to her wishes. She would demand that the party continue, as we have little time to waste making memories with our friends and loved ones.
I will be in Las Vegas over Christmas with family and friends. And I will be in New York City to visit the only church I know for three nights in a row through 1/1/11, which I am really looking to as a significant reset. I hope to see lots of you there, and hope that by then that pain is a touch more bearable for us all.
Lots of love from Toronto,
Brian

i've been trying to say...something, i don't know what...for two days now, and have failed miserably at each attempt. but i know she'd understand. some of the moments i liked most with her were the ones when words failed either, or both, of us, and we'd sit in shared silence, each with our vices, until one of us would say something silly to break the quiet.
my thoughts are with Brian and everyone who loved her...and if you knew her even a little, you were sure to, because she was amazing. funny, with a sharp wit and just the right amount of snark so you never were able to take her or yourself too seriously, no matter what the topic.
she was a great friend to me, honest and trustworthy, and one of my favorite women of ever. i'll never forget her or any of the lessons i learned through our too-brief friendship.
rest in peace, Princess Patchoulia

I need to pick some song lyrics to go inside the memorial that each person will get at the visitation/service.
It is a hard task that I must have complete by today.
Some of you on here know Julia's musical tastes almost as well as I do, so I would love some suggestions.
I was thinking, based on Kanada Kev's video:
This ain't a song for the brokenhearted
No silent prayer for the faith departed
And I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice when I shout it out loud
It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just wanna live while I'm alive
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said, "I did it my way"
I just wanna live while I'm alive
'Cause it's my life
This is for the ones who stood their ground
For (all my friends) who never backed down
Tomorrow's getting harder, make no mistake
Luck ain't even lucky, gotta make your own breaks
You better stand tall
When they're calling you out
Don't bend, don't break
Baby, don't back down
- Bon Jovi (Julia's not so guilty pleasure).

That's perfect, Brian. See you whenever, wherever, on 1/1/11. (We also met with Mad Libs at Kimmy's, many hazy moons ago.)
Erin, what Jennie said.
There are two Seapods shows coming up in Feb. at Saranac Lake, NY that might be good for that: http://www.jambase.c...EventID=1346738 (or, whenever) I realize that that's not exactly Albany.

I only knew her through the boards, but she was a riot. Having yet another boardie passing so soon has really made me step back and appreciate all of the people I have in my life and hopefully will continue to have.
My deepest sympathies to those of you who knew her well.

Very sad to hear of it. I only knew her slightly from the board, but it seems like most of the threads I posted in were ones that she started (a lot of times, her words brought me out of the woodwork). She was always so kind and funny.
Much love and light to her family and loved ones at this time. Cherish your memories and keep her with you, always. Someone as special as her will not fade away.

Sorry for the loss .. and for those who will miss her thoughts and wise cracks here.
I am one of those. Never knew her in person but always enjoyed the spirit and humor of her posts here. My heart goes out to those who loved this vibrant soul. You can indeed sense these things online, and I appreciated her.
