didnt know who the grateful dead were at that point 
one of the greatest regrets of my life cuz my gramma lived less than 10 miles from there and i clearly remember her complainly loudly about those damn hippies who kept asking to camp on her land

my uncle was a stock car driver at that racetrack
i spent many a saturday night there eating popcorn out of a brown paper bag and watching the demolition derbies and stock car races

wish i could add "seeing the grateful dead" there, but it wasnt meant to be

sure was a sweet show though...glad its recorded for all to hear

Our honeymoon started off with Saratoga 88 - then off to Oxford town- then traveling out West with no clue - (one day you will all love Bud's tune, Travelin Without Any Clues - and then in August ran into Deadheads at a winery in CA who told us the boys were at Laguna Seca the next day!!!!!
and I got my Box of Rain there too.........
