That was such an amazing time!! One of my first weekend trips away from my parents that my older brother didn't go on with me!!

I just made a note to pull the show out for the ride down to Liz's after work today! Thanks!!

didnt know who the grateful dead were at that point

one of the greatest regrets of my life cuz my gramma lived less than 10 miles from there and i clearly remember her complainly loudly about those damn hippies who kept asking to camp on her land :ravn:

my uncle was a stock car driver at that racetrack
i spent many a saturday night there eating popcorn out of a brown paper bag and watching the demolition derbies and stock car races :clapping:
wish i could add "seeing the grateful dead" there, but it wasnt meant to be  :dunno:

sure was a sweet show though...glad its recorded for all to hear  :rose:

The big dirt piles on the infield were perfect for reclining.

It was wonderful to hear some stage banter from the boys.

And I also remember idiots with fireworks near my tent!

Our honeymoon started off with Saratoga 88 - then off to Oxford town- then traveling out West with no clue - (one day you will all love Bud's tune, Travelin Without Any Clues - and then in August ran into Deadheads at a winery in CA who told us the boys were at Laguna Seca the next day!!!!!

and I got my Box of Rain there too.........

LOVED THE 88 SUMMER SHOWS!!!!!

Took Mutant to his first Dead show at SPAC in 88 (I think.) A friend then invited us along for the ride to Oxford, so away we went!
What an introduction.

88 was one of my favorite years. Started In Feb seeing Frank all over the east coast then did the summer tour... SO MUCH FUN!
