oy! i just couldn't put it in my thread on the family board.

now. does one wear a necklace with this kind of lack of neckline? my hair needs a trim! should i wear it up? normally i curl the ends and that's it. you can see my hair doesn't curl in cold weather.



that's Tiger's butt and i'm threatening him to not brush up against me

the back is cut as low as the front. i didn't have my heels on and had to hold the dress up!


my shoes are black strappy sandals with a sparkly silver rose accent on top. i have my mom's onyx necklace and earrings but there's no 'backing' to the stones so they can look more grey than black sometimes. the pendant isn't very big and my chains are delicate so it doesn't seem to make much of a statement. and i can't figure out what length to wear it anyway! i have an onyx ring but it is gold and i think i need to stick with silver at this point. i have my mom's pearls and i think i could come up with a pearl ensemble but i'm not sure about it... what do you think for necklace, earrings, etc? my purse is a silver clutch i got a few years ago, also with sparkly.

hair: might suggest either using a straightening iron or curl it and put it up (with loose curls falling around your face)

I would wear your hair swept up and have a few curls fall and caress you face...Maybe go for eye popping earrings and no neclack- let that plunge line make your statement! Awesome Nancy, you look beautiful.

I'd need to view the pearls with the dress to see if they work, otherwise do you have a silver or white gold chain with a pendant that meshes with the sparkles?

You could always get a pearl necklace while you are out in that.

I would go with long pendant type crystally earrings and no necklace bc of the center jewel --- you want the attention right there!

also I agree..... maybe some soft curls on the bottom of hair -- perhaps half up just so you aren't touching/messing with it all night (my usual issue)

well i know you'll all be disappointed but i've decided not to wear this dress, i'll keep it for next year. i've been sick for going on 2 weeks now and never got the jewellry, i don't have the energy at the end of the day to do a single thing except eat, take meds and go to bed, and most of all i've decided to go for something WARM and comfortable. next year is my 25th anyway, so i'll make a big statement then. i appreciate all your help though and i promise, next year i'll knock 'em dead.

tomorrow night is the party! starts at 4 with the pre-party, that's very casual dress, and then we do the quick metamorphosis for cocktails at 6. the dress looks great, fits great and is super comfortable - and secure! - i have the purrrrfect bra, fabulous new 4" heels that sparkle, the sparkly jewellry and i'm getting my hair done up at 12:45 and i have a few different really pretty flowers or a sparkly barrette that i made from a second sparkly bracelet to put in it, depending on how we do it. and my grandmother's fur jacket gets its annual outing for when we step outside.

quite a party! but i can't figure out how to save the pics on the disc i got from getting my disposable camera developed today to my laptop. it brings up a slideshow and right clicking doesn't work and there doesn't seem to be a save option.

thank you ladies! i had a great time. one shoulder slipped off just once, when i was dancing, but i don't think anyone saw anything.

i haven't worn 5" heels since........... 198......3?? the bottoms of my feet feel weird and i think my toes are a little numb. i had the cushions in them but i could totally believe that the balls of my feet could be bruised. i might have my massage therapist work on them tomorrow if they're not feeling normal.

and i was even dancing in my slippers by 11:30! (people will usually dance in their stockinged feet but i may have started a new trend. we'll find out for sure next year! )

The balls of your feet are most certainly bruised. Five inch heels? OUCH! It'll go away in a few days. Just wear super cushy socks and sneakers/flats for a few days

just got back from massage therapy and she worked on my feet. compressed nerves are most likely the issue but they do feel a little better already and hopefully even better tomorrow!

she was working on my back and found some reallllly sore spots. owwww, she's huuuurting meee. i said (semi!) jokingly. she leaned over and whispered "nobody can hear you". it was funny. she freakin' rocks, i tell ya.

so my dad's been asking to see the pics so i showed him last night. he was very impressed! even olga was impressed but still couldn't help getting a dig in about not doing the hair myself.
