I remember a few years back a chinese place here on LI was caught with slaughtered dogs in the freezer. They said "it was for their own consumption". They lost business and was closed within 2 months.

Wonder what the odds are that we all have already eaten a dog, cat or rodent from a chinese place.

many a time I've eaten the boneless spareribs and they didn't really have a pork taste to them

Tokyo police are investigating whether a man who cooked his own severed genitals and served them to five paying diners committed a crime, the force said Tuesday.
Mao Sugiyama had his penis and testicles surgically removed in March and kept them frozen for two months before cooking them at a public event in May.
Diners each paid 20,000 yen ($250) for a portion.
The police probe came after the mayor of Suginami ward, the Tokyo district where the event took place, said it had involved the display of obscene objects.
"Many residents of Suginami and elsewhere have expressed a sense of discomfort and feeling of apprehension over this," Mayor Ryo Tanaka said in a statement Monday.
A Tokyo police spokeswoman acknowledged the complaint, but declined to give further details, citing "an ongoing investigation".
Sugiyama, a painter in his 20s who defines himself as "asexual", did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In an email to AFP in May, he confirmed the event had taken place and said it was organised to raise awareness about "sexual minorities, x-gender, asexual people".
In tweets on May 18, the artist said steps were taken so his act met all relevant laws, including a ban on organ sales, processing of medical waste and even food sanitation requirements.
Sugiyama said his genitals had been removed by a physician and certified free of infections.

OK - get back to us on that one.
What's fugu?
blowfish - tingly, deadly when prepared wrong. see-through cuts of fish, which contain just enough of the poison to bring a tingle to your lips and mouth, but not enough to paralyze and asphyxiate you. you hope not, anyway.
i think 5 chefs in NYC are licensed to prepare it, and a handful on the west coast as well. otherwise, it's impossible to find.
well then it's official long island boneless sparibs are dog...
they're under appetizers not pork on the menus
cute. woof!

The chefs are trained almost like surgeons. I trust them implicitly. I'd also love to try basashi which is raw horse.
agree on both counts. everyone whose eaten thinly-sliced raw horse says it's light-years better than beef sashimi.
that said, i plan on preparing kobe beef sashimi this summer, served with Nobu's new-style oil, which barely warms the meat when drizzled on top.
I've been trying to get whale parts from Alaska actually.
it's never too late to get a head start on minimata disease.
