Is there a way to make ID3 tags "stick" to .wav files?
I was just organizing my music library, and when I re-imported everything back into iTunes I noticed that about 250 of my 8243 files did not have ID3 tag (which was odd because I'm completely OCD about it).
As I'm writing these ID3 tags back in, it dawned on me that the first 100 of them were all .wav. Sure enough, a random selection of files picked through the yet to be re-tagged files have all returned .wav files as well...
So... Is there a way to make it so that if I were to export my entire music library to a new computer, or have to use one of my back-up hard drives in case of system failure, I wouldn't have to re-write in the ID3 information for these 250 files (especially considering that this number could grow)?
Anybody?
.wav files and ID3 tags..

I don't think that WAV supports ID3 tags. Yahoo answers agrees: http://answers.yahoo...15134002AAekIzX
My guess is that if you had ID3 info associated with WAV files, it lived in your player's database only, not in the files themselves.

Yahoo answers doesn't know shit.
"As a derivative of RIFF, WAV files can be tagged with metadata in the INFO chunk. In addition, WAV files can embed Extensible Metadata Platform (XMP) data. Applications may not handle this extra information or may expect to see it in a particular place. Although the RIFF specification requires that applications ignore chunks they do not recognize, some applications are confused by additional chunks."
My question is how to edit the metadata in the INFO chunk.

Looks like Tag&Rename a windows only piece of software might be just what I'm looking for.
