I'm teaching Tyler how to make sushi tonight!

I'm not picking up any sushi-grade fish for this evening (just don't want to spend the $ on our "lesson sushi") so we're going to used smoked salmon, shrimp, crab, and veggies. I'm thinking cucumber, shredded carrots, red pepper, avocado (if I can find one that is ready to eat) and green onions. Of course, we have tamari and wasabi to dip it into, and some pickled ginger to enjoy along with it! :ninja:

I'm wondering if anyone has any other suggestions to share? Tofu crisped up in a pan, maybe?

If you have any suggestions, I would love to know 'em!

Thanks!

I had a veggie roll recently that had shredded napa cabbage that was lightly dressed with a rice wine vinegar dressing. YUM. I also like tofu dressed in a peanut sauce with cukes in sushi. That is also yum!

You are inspiring to make my own sushi....thanks :)

Oooh, the nappa cabbage sounds good - and I could use the rest to make kimchi!

Bacon-wrapped asparagus. :afro:

I know, but trust me - it makes a killer maki.

No napa cabbage, but I got a savoy - same sort of texture, I think it will work. Gonna shred it and let it marinate in some ride vinegar and sesame seeds for the rest of the afternoon. :)
