Workout was solid tonight.

Struggled on some of the tri moves...especially the over the head from behinders (swimmers)

Will work on that, bruhs.

after my wookout this morning, I asked for an attendance print out from my gym to see if I'm on track to get reimbursed by my insurance company. If you go 100 times in a year, they'll cut you a check for $100.

Joined the gym November 30th. I've been 145 times

and tack on 25 days of skiing and about 15 days playing tennis.

Sweet. See if you can get $200 back.

I did clean and press, pullups, weighted situps and "cable pull throughs" (Without a cable :undecided: )

For cardio I was playing soccer. But I rolled my ankle again and vowed to never again play on those shit fields, sio….

My book recommends I keep the cardio to a minimum. I hate running, so I’ve been keeping it to none. :undecided: I should be doing I think 30 minutes of interval running twice a week. The book says not to do too much cardio, because that will burn too much of the calories I am taking in, defeating the purpose.

i cycle & run outdoors
cycling burns more calories in an hour than running does & is easier on the joints so i ride much more than i run.
although once the weather turns cold, dark & shitty cycling season is officially over & i'm strictly running.

:halfstar: cardio burns fat...i know you're not trying to be super lean, but i think you have to incorporate some cardio into your routine. have you tried short, easy runs or jumping rope?

a bike or stairmaster will work your lower half more than running while still cardio based...maybe that's best for you.

Cycling is the shit. I prefer mt. biking as it is a full blown body workout. Single track'd.

:halfstar: should listen to jnjn.......

At any rate, yoga tonight and Im going to pull the ab rippers out again if I can still move after yoga.

So, I'm in VT on business staying at a buddies.

Gotta an issue. Tomorrow is moobs and tris wookout day. Sometimes when I can't get it in on Friday, I'll get in on Saturday, but I'm busy Saturday. If I push it to Sunday, it throws my whole schedule off for a week. So, it's tomorrow or nothin'.

I checked to see if there's a local gym that I could get a day rate for and there is.

The name of the place

Phit

:drumroll:

I shit you not, they even name their gyms with a PH up here in Vermont

Picked up some new cross-trainers (Unbroken Chain, $70 if your paying attention) and a new yoga mat today. I'm gonna order 5,10 and 20 lb weights to use along side the resist bands too me thinks.

Kenpo today. Fun ass stuff. Blocking, punching, kicking....lots of cardio, lots of balance...lots of technique. Good Saturday wookout.

Tomorrow is stretch and relax for me.

See you bruhs Monday for arms, shoulders and abs. :pimp:

Changed it up this week. Morning wookout instead of evening. A personal trainer friend recommends mornings as apparently males have more testoronie in the AM.
Also, adding a 1 mile jog as warm up. Back and chest, ab ripper desert this morning.

Total wookout time. 1.75 hours
Also, did much better on the dive-bomber push-ups today. Feelin' the burn. :pimp:

Yeah, I realize that. Then I also has to carry the weights home too. If I get them delivered to my house, I no longer have to lug them 3 miles home.

5 Things to Cut Out of your Diet

When I begin training new clients, the first thing I do is ask them about their diets. Because if you want to get major results, you have to cut out what I call "food porn"—food that's doing nothing to fuel your body, and in some cases is actually doing more harm than good. To keep things simple, I tell them there are 5 things that they absolutely, positively, MUST stop eating and drinking if they want to achieve their fitness goals:

Processed sugars. I'm talking about white sugar, high fructose corn syrup, sucrose, or pretty much any kind of sugar that came from a factory instead of a piece of fruit. Processed sugar negatively affects your metabolism, your insulin response, even your mood—and all for totally empty calories. Cutting sugar out of your diet means you're going to have to read some labels, because it is by far the most common food additive in the U.S.

Alcohol. Calories that are as empty as sugar, and at 7 calories a gram, booze can really pack it on. Alcohol also dehydrates your body, which compromises muscle growth. Plus it slows your metabolism, so you burn fewer calories. In short, drinking gives you less muscle and more fat—you're just undoing everything you're trying to achieve with your workout.

Caffeine. I know there are a lot of people out there who say caffeine can give your workout a little extra "oomph." Obviously, it can give you some extra energy to make you push harder, but the cost is that it increases cortisol levels in your body, which inhibits lean muscle growth. Plus it can negatively affect your sleep patterns, and you're better off working out when you're rested than when you're juiced.

Anything with a face. It used to be that you could find some decent lean meat sources, but in the last few decades, the hormones, antibiotics, and chemicals that have been used to process meat and fish make them pretty worthless as a source of protein. There are plenty of excellent vegetarian protein sources, like beans, tofu, and nuts, so you can eat clean while you get lean.

Gluten. Gluten is a grain-derived protein found in lots of different foods, mostly wheat, rye, and barley products. The name comes from the Latin word for "glue." You don't need to eat glue. Even if you're not one of the millions who are sensitive or allergic to gluten, you'll be operating a much cleaner machine if you cut it out of your diet. There are plenty of other healthier gluten-free alternatives, like millet, amaranth, quinoa, and oats.

By eliminating these empty or harmful "foods" from your diet, you can start turning your body into the well-oiled machine nature intended it to be. By eating a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, you can give yourself the premium fuel to get into the best shape of your life.

Peace,

I think it is mainly a reflection of those who want optimal results from a wookout plan. I definitely cant follow that tit for tat. I need beer in my diet. Beer is like, my best friend-n-shit....

I think keep the consumption to a minimum will have to suffice. You can keep the meats, gluten and white sugars though.......

moderation is key ;)

i think the best thing anyone can do for themselves is to limit processed foods as much as possible. the sugars, sodium & other additives are not doing anyone any good whatsoever.
& for all those packaged items you just can't live w/o...read the labels VERY carefully!

i don't agree w/ cutting caffeine. sure, 5 coffees/day is a bit excessive  but 1 definitely has its health benefits.

everyones digestive system reacts differently to gluten. i would recommend trying to go gluten-free if you've been having issues.

as for soy...it contains phytoestrogens so i try to stay away from it most of the time.

tasb just curious, where did you find this?

Right, my 6 pack of beer a night habit (which got me into this flabby mess in the first place) isn't really a healthy deal. I think 1-2 beverages a couple times a week (or ONE if you are having a day) is sufficient.

I mainly agree with what you say, jnjn. I would probably take it further with processed foods and add that the size portions also plays a role.
My diet has changed the last week and days to basically following a nutrition guide provided by my P.T.
it basically recommends what we all learned in school. The food groups, the amount of the food groups per sitting and the kinds of snacks you should eat if youre a snacker.
Cutting down on fatty foods, fatty cooking ingredients (like oils, dressing and condiments) and not straying away for a twinkie or hostess snack.

It was a newsletter from my personal trainer.

about the only thing 'processed' I eat are Pro-Max Protein Bars. About the only thing I eat out of box are a fish sandwich once a month, crackers and pasta. I'm good for about ten sodas a week though and a fair amount of low carb gatorade. All my meals are made from scratch.

right now I'm holding steady, weight wise. I dropped 20 pounds then lightened up on the cardio. Hitting hard this week though. I think that alone will drop the last 10 pounds I need to.
