are your workouts high weight / low reps. Most things I've read suggest that if you're looking to bulk up, you should be working out with weight levels near 90% of your max lifting capability and continually trying to up that weight. The brahnolds at my gym lift huge amounts of weight, but only do sets of say 6 reps.

That's a ball shrinking workout though. You gain mass, sure...but its all uncut.

I don't know man. These brahnolds are huge and ripped. I assume they've been working out for years though. The one dude in particular that I'm thinking of is 5'8ish, I'm guessing 210. I was doing incline dumbell presses next to him yesterday and brahnold was doing flat dumbell presses with 125lb dumbells. impressive. When I first joined the gym back in November, I saw those dumbells and thought who in the hell could use those. I see people regularly benching 250+ with a barbell, but dumbells are way harder.

Brahs. This is all covered in the book. I was doing reps of 6 but not getting much bigger. I was getting stronger a bit I guess because I would increase weights once I could do 3 sets of 6 reps. Apparently I was not eating enough, which I knew.

Right now I am not even using weights. My routine is Swiss Ball Leg Passes, Some other Swiss Ball routine, Calf Raises, Planks, some other Plank like thing and Airplanes. I think next week I start back with the weights.

I think the point is to do more “core workouts” than isolation exercises.

Also, digital scale'd. 2 different ones that have the same results. Accurate'd.

Passes not presses. Pretty much an ab routine. The other one (I forget what it is called) is more of a quad, glutes, ab routine.

You need to do compound exercises like squats and power cleans and bench press, not core or any isolations. Compound exercises = ripped. Google Ripptoe workout. That'll get you huge.

http://www.bodybuild.../fun/wotw52.htm

man.......reading this makes me think 'I'm doing it wrong' :undecided:

Unless my work schedule screws me up, my routine is this:

Monday: Biceps and Back.
Tuesday: Abs/Cardio
Wednesday: Legs and Shoulders
Thrusday: Abs/Cardio
Friday: Chest and Tris / Cardio
Weekends: One day of Abs/Cardio

Each day has between 7 and 10 different exercies at 3 sets of 10. So, 21 to 30 sets of ten.

Ripptoes workouts are only 3 or 4 exercies at 3 sets of 5.

That's FAR less time in the gym. Not sure I want to give that a shot or not as I'm not looking to bulk anything except for my arms a little bit. More interested in toning.

Maybe doing his routine, but instead of high weight at 3x5 go with a lower weight at 3x10???

This morning was cardio, though I slacked on the abs.

In a perfect week it's:

Monday: Arms / Back
Tuesday: Abs / Cardio
Wednesday: Legs / Shoulders
Thursday: Abs / Cardio
Friday: Moobs and Tris
weekend: try and do something fun for cardio both days.

I'm never perfect though. I get my lifting in.....cardio and abs, the things I need the most I slack on :undecided:

WC: did plyometrics in the boxer shorts. Lots of jumping, sweaty knees kept getting caught by shorts and restricting motion. Oh noes!

This work is a real SOB. In a good way.

I need to get a pull-up bar, a dip bar and a cable rack/system. All in one would be awesome. Possibly a squat station(?), also. Recs? Keep in mind that I am not a libtardo, and am price conscious (aka cheap).

That drink looks expensive. Wow. Thanks. I'll look into it further.

Plyometrics kicked my ass big time kanger'd last night. I'm having trouble moving today.....

why not just join a gym? Planet Fitness runs deals all the time. $99 for the year. You'll have all the wookout equipment you need and never have to worry about repairing or replacing equipment when it breaks down.

I am too lazy to have to go somewhere to work out. Plus, it is a recurring expense, it never ends. It is more pricey in the long run. I told you I am cheap.
