So I am going through and making a list of do's and dont's for the DJ....

I have come up with more don't play any of these songs such as:

Chicken Dance
Mony Mony
I will go on
YMCA
Any and all Ganster Rap
Macarena
Stayin Alive

Can anyone else think of any to add to this list to help keep the cheese factor out of our evening?

Call me a nerd, but I think the chicken dance, macarena, cha cha slide, etc. are silly at weddings. I'm usually drunk and I think it's very entertaining.

We are having background music. No dancing!!!

I'm thinking it would be nice if Richard and I did just one dance, but I dunno.

we hired a band that only plays funk, soul, and blues. my parents wants us to do the Hora, like, SOOOO badly. thanks GOODNESS the band agreed to tell them they didn't know it/ couldn't learn it. phew

i think if you give the DJ two lists- kinds of songs you DO like, and kinds of songs you DON'T like, they'll get the idea & will tailor a playlist to your needs always good to ask ahead of time if they have copies of your favorite songs, and if they don't- lend them a CD for the evening

I burned an entire cd for my dj so he had my specific songs that I wanted to hear on there, and then he could also take reqeusts from the guests. I also told him not to talk much- I hate that!!

we also made a playlist on our mp3 player for cocktail hour with music we love

That is when we are having music....at the cocktail hour. Our toasts will be done during that time as well, because the restaurant has a cute courtyard that they are going to have all done up for us!

I have a must have list and a must not.

I hired a great guy. He has given me an depth questionnaire to fill out.

I just am filling it out and want to avoid the cheese factor at my reception.

I hired a Feesh band for the after party that will avoid cheesemo music.
