In past years I have typically arrived at Boardie land sometime between 12-2pm on Thursday and ended up smack in the middle. I am thinking bout arriving earlier this year to get a better spot. Im curious to hear what time people are getting on line to get one of the choice shade spots under a tree or by the treeline.
Any recommendations ?

Wouldn't feel right about crashing fam camp as our group is not always quiet in the evengings and I would feel bad about disturbing the young'ns.
Tabbooma, multiple pop ups / tarps are def an option, but would much rather have a big tree:)
Any recommendations from anyone on timing to get a spot in the shade?

What Tabooma said....get in line at opening and hope the four winds blow you safely home
Always bring shade plans in case you get no natural shade (prolly only 10% shaded up in Boardie...maybe less)
(btw, getting in line early messes up traffic so I think the official line is,... don't get there until gates time or you could get parked to wait for gates...and that is a bad trip!)
Clouseau may have the best idea...now if he's burried nitrus filled glass dogs, he's pushing his luck!

I agree with the pop up over your tent if possible especially in the am. Your tent is about 10 degrees hotter sitting in the sun. No sleep possible after 8am. Good call.
Crash family camp it has plenty of trees. Oddly enough many will notice you don't have a family but they will not say anything.
Family camping tends to be quieter, and you can actually get some sleep when you do. I agree, the family's will look and not pay one mind to you once they tell it is your stuff you are going through. Usually your car alarm lights/sound alert them to this and chill, otherwise they may be curious.
