Anyone Going? A buddy of mine and myself are headed out there. This is part of the "Undead" festival.
Apparently a very unique show, with a proper MMW set, and a set where a variety of musical guests perform with MMW.
Never been there before.

A very interesting show. Started with a set of pure MMW. Then a second set where there was one substitute for either M, M or W, as an example, Marco Benevento sat in for Medeski for a song. The third set was MMW with some guests joining in. Not every combination worked, but some were amazing. Quite an experimental journey, but I was very glad I was in attendance.

It was one of the most unique MMW shows I've ever seen. I love how they're willing to take such chances, to see where it takes em'. That could have been disastrous for other artists, but MMW thrives in the chaos.
In many cases, the guest musician pushed the music into new territory, or totally upped the energy in one way or another. Again, not every combo was gold, but the large majority of the musical guests were pleasant surprises! There was one young drummer guy who was the highlight of the evening for me. I don't recall his name, but OMG, he was brilliant on the drums. Medeski and Wood had to step up their game to keep up! For the final set, a few instruments added new textures to things as well. Examples were: A violinist, a Pedal Steel guitarist, a Tuba player...and an Asian Woman vocalist who's shrills were Yoko Ono-esqe. (not my favorite)
