How long is your commute?

1 hour 20 minutes by train
So basically I have to choose, drive 100 miles and fill up the tank every 3 days ($40)
Or pay $4 a day for the train. Even better I should get a free train pass soon now that I'm a federal employee
Crappy thing is that train leaves at 6:03 am to get me to work on time. Goodnight!

My old commute was from the bed to the computer on my desk. Paid the same as current job. Trade offs, I would rather be in an office setting learning hands on from other people. Ill just sleep on the train and hopefully get used to this early ass schedule soon. Funny thing is the days that I keep my son, I will drive leaving at 730, giving me a chance to "sleep in"

Where can you get in 3 minutes??? That's pretty fast My old commute was from the bed to the computer on my desk. Paid the same as current job. My work is literally around the corner. I can walk there in 5 minutes. the only reason I drive is so I have my car to get stuff done on my lunch hour.

My lawn borders college property so I've got to go with 3 minutes.
I drive because if I get called to another area of the campus they don't expect us to take the time to walk.

I don't own a car any longer but I am thinking about it. The price of gas and tolls are keeping me from it at the moment.
Maybe i can buy a scooter...

When I was in college I used to commute 2 hours and 3-4 trains each way to get to school/work (I worked at my school). You'll get used to it, just find something to do on the train (or maybe sleep in the morning and find something to do on the train home). I found it's a great time for reading/studying-the great part about training it is you're not driving so you can read/do crosswords/learn a foreign langauge/whatever. Depending on where you live some places have daily commuter newspapers that has the news and like a sudoku puzzle.

I do, several days a week, drive to another site 20 minutes away and, on rare occasions, to another that is an hour away.

I have a 20 minute commute threshold before I go berserk.
I'd rather bike, but I don't want to get to work sweaty. Also, I have to cross a highway ramp and that kinda freaks me out.

Going to NYC - 25 minutes door to door.
Coming home from NYC - 45 minutes, but if it was raning that could easily be an 1:30 (oof).
Now in Philly:
14 mile commute takes on average 35 minutes.
Friday morning it usually takes 15 minutes.
There is a sign that gives the time it should take to go 12 the miles. Worst time I have seen on this is 56 minutes. That does not include the time it took me to get to that spot.

I am so used to the hour in the morning that it doesn't even phase me anymore but driving home an hour in the afternoon for some reason seems much worse
