(sitting at her desk)
Ethel: Please sign on the line.
Me: There's no line for a tip.
Ethel: It would be unethical for me to accept a tip.
Me: I didn't say I'd give you a tip, just that there is no line for one.
Ethel: (looks at me ????????)
(walk out of office chuckling to myself)

...it usually starts with boiling a few pounds of beef bones in a stock pot of water, then adding the bruised ginger, onion, and spice pouch with the ground star anise....
This reminds me - we just got a Vietnamese place in Northampton - while I love making my own Vietnamese dishes, it's always awesome to enjoy affordable good eats while out on the town - so happy, squeee!!!

yeah, i'm still 45 minutes (no traffic) from Elmhurst, Queens, and Pho Bang. fortunately, they do it all, and they do it well.

They are right across the street from me here at werk - so thrilled that I can grab some bun at the end of the day when I don't feel like cooking (which is a rare occasion, but it happens!)
Finding this place right down the road in Hadley really made life infinitely more enjoyable, too!

I love the part where someone describes it as an Asian food TARDIS!

It'd be great to have ya here - imagine the dinner parties we could co-host... Time for the EXODUS!
yeah, we'd make a fantastic double-dip one-two kitchen combo (more like one-one, really) for a Viet meal!!!
Here's one of the Vietnamese places here in Ithaca http://www.saigonkitchenithaca.com/
Mmmm, that looks GOOD! The next time I am in Ithaca...
interesting menu, plenty of treasures, some nods to Chinese influence, and some real gems - jungle fried rice, goi cuon, and viet flounder, which is divine when done right! i'm laughing at the $8 bowls of pho, though...that's a solid $2-3 higher than NYC.
