using that same line of detective work, my 6yo has driven a car (which he changes the oil and headlamps on too), built an analog synthesizer, and performed twice on the main stage at the Great South Bay Festival. he's also shot a 71 over 18 holes (including a hole-in-one on a par 4).
guilty!

The only story here is the black-face mom freak show parade. If mom didn't look like she was 'bout to sing Mammy this wouldn't have had anyone talking about it at all. (heck, if mom looked normal, the teacher prolly wouldn't have thought anything was out of place to report!)
/end thread!

It's not news. Just freak shows and human interest stories.
And celebrity shit.
Can you imagine Walter Cronkite "reporting" this crap on a nightly basis?

conflicting stories, i don't know what to think. the salon says the kid waited outside with the dad and brother, the mom says she brought her into the tanning room.
in the places i've seen, the tanning room isn't the same as the tanning booth. you walk into the room, get undressed, then enter a private booth and turn on the bake lights. there's a chair in the room where a kid could sit safely and the mom could keep an eye on her while tanning.
not condoning her ridiculous tanning habit, which isn't any of my business but IS scary and dangerous... still, i don't understand why this is news. hopefully it'll have the effect of making her reconsider her unhealthy tanning habit though. funny (not haha, but strange) how people can have such a skewed idea of beauty, or what it takes to be beautiful.

Not saying I believe her or not, but the kid really could mean *I was outside tanning with my mom* Kindergarteners aren't always the best at relaying details.
What she looks like is a totally different story. She needs professional help for an obvious addiction. She obviously used makeup to look that dark on TV, because her mug shot is decidely lighter. She seems to have a very distrtorted sense of herself. This doesn't automatically mean she let her kid go into a tanning booth, but she DOES need some help.

oh no, there's evidence! quote the 5yo in school: " i went tanning with Mommy" using that same line of detective work, my 6yo has driven a car (which he changes the oil and headlamps on too), built an analog synthesizer, and performed twice on the main stage at the Great South Bay Festival. he's also shot a 71 over 18 holes (including a hole-in-one on a par 4). guilty!
when i was 5-ish i had a slip and slide but i didnt have the strength yet to really get myself going down the thing, so id lie on my belly and my dad would give me a good push. it was all great until one day i decided to have a fit for some random reason just as my father had given me said push and i rolled off the side of the thing giving myself a giant bruise on my side. just so happened the next day i had a dr appt and of course he asked me why i had a giant bruise... so i answered truthfully, or at least what was the truth in my little mind - "daddy threw me on the ground".
for the record, my father never so much as gave me a little spank - when it came to my sisters and i he was a total pacifist.
