you using synthetic worms?
The three or four inch green Senko gets them every time. They are not cheap but worth every penny !!!! Trout go for them too

So when I got home, I took the canoe out Tuesday to fish a local lake. Got the canoe unloaded and into the water, only to discover a hole. Grrrr. I already had a dozen nightcrawlers so I hoofed it downshore a bit and settled on fishing from shore and wasting all the worms on panfish. But the lakers were soooo active. Every minute, to the left and to the right, they were jumpin' and slappin' the water. All of 'em -- of course -- just 20 feet beyond my casting. It was crazy.
Oh well. Still beats workin'.
This was the lake I fished, Hemlock Lake. It's just 5 minutes from home.
