got the 4 - wheel permit for NYS beaches in suffolk - it's a drag that they closed Gilgo (on account of all the dead hookers turning up), 'cause it's on the way home from work, and a great excuse for bailin' on the traffic of the Southern State - er, fishing i mean ! Yes... fishing !

not having a 4 wheeler cuts our potential spots in half :(

can't wait to get out - i drive to Williamsburg Bklyn everyday and get so sick of the traffic coming home that once it gets warm, i tend to bail for the ocean view along Ocean pkwy from Jones to Robt. Moses - mostly hit the Sore Thumb across from Democrat Pt. - often rolling back west to the Overlook Beach border where i often meet the missus.....aaaah, summertime !

Try 19.5 !!! and 4/day if you can... winter flounder 12 in. min. - 2/day limit - but that season ends May 30...start spreadin' the corn....

i understand they have to manage fish populations, but with such a high length number on fluke, there are bound to be many "shorts" casualties as a result - :protest: 17 or 18 would be a more realistic # - it's gonna be a real shit season for party boats as well....

Is there a cost in NY for a license to fish salt water?

It's absolutely free - but you need to register or risk a fine - you can do it online @ above link, or @ your local licensing facility...for a while they had the balls to charge $10/ yr., 0r in multiples (i think i did a 2 or 3 yr. @ the time). They(NYS) also had a lifetime for $75, which i'm glad i never bought...and it was a little green plastic card , same as the freshwater license...

Tabbooma is not sure if CT still has the fee, seems like total BS to pay for saltwater license... Good fishing to everyone :)

...and no one's ever even checked... i guess the only local constabulary's gonna break your balls about it is Officer Joe Dilligent or someone who's lookin' for an excuse to give you the shoreline heave - ho....it's never a bad idea to just do it and cover your ass, 'specially when it's free....

Got skunked all around on Saturday. First with turkey, then fishing. Fished for walleye under the clouds and switched for lakers under the sun. Was an awesome day nonetheless.
