... as for your arrival time, I'd come at 8, or at noon. That's just my two cents. It's a toss up of wanting to enter the park early in the morning with everyone else, and get set up early. Or, waiting till the main influx settles down a little and come in a little later.
Please dont come before 8, that actually contributes to the issues.

Took me 5 hours 15 minutes. Arrived at 7:30 am thursday, got to my campsite at 12:45 pm. I wouldn't expect any difference this year. Go VIP.
While I didn't have a 5 hour wait, my wait was painful enough to pull the trigger on a vip ticket this year for a quick ingress. From what I saw last year having a vendor ticket and twice being misdirected to the VIP entrance it was smooth sailing....until people figured out that I had to go the slow route....pissed me off since I was almost in at the vip entrance twice.
Now the challenge of entering at vip and camping in the boardie area....I see a pull cart in my future unless I get a nice golf cart escort.

just tell the guys when they search you so they can give you a separate golf cart escort and dont put you in line with people going to regular vip camping
unless they moved boardie a long ways, its not that far

We had the best golf cart escort one year. they must of sensed the heady mojo, right through the arches and into boardie camping. All we did was ask where we go to get to the regular camping entrance. Mad props to nikkiblue and jnjn for pulling that one off
a nice smile and a good rack will getcha places

The traffic jams are the bane of every single festival. Fortunately, I have not had the displeasure of of waiting all that long to get in for any of the ones I've been to. The longest was Bonnaroo in 05 which was at 3 hours. I do like the idea of a separate entrance for VIP at Vibes though. At Summer Camp it's a separate line, same entrance and actually took exponentially longer than the general admission, uber frustrating.
hey i am going to summercamp this year and have vip passes. are saying it took longer being in the vip line??

When my wife and I went back in '09, yes we had to wait longer. There were two lanes of VIP traffic going into the field. For each car they searched it, took your ticket, went up to the ticket booth, and brought back your wrist band(s). Nothing fast about it. Can only hope they improved.
However, the VIP was great. Cheap bar, air conditioned bathrooms and showers, the roped off viewing area was nice and close to the stage (not crowded). Besides the wait, well worth it.

Don't get too wasted while in line because you still have to set up camp. For all these reasons, I got VIP this year.
Lol and you would have to navigate your car around 1000's of people that don't want a wasted driver driving like a NASCAR driver to set up camp before they pass out or piss their pants.

The best thing I've seen waiting to get into vibes (wish I had a pic) was guys had built a putting green & put it on top of their car. So as they waited & creeped in, they played golf!
Mama Kel is the kind of lady I like too get stuck in traffic with she like to have fun and just rolls with it.

we also went in 09 and are going again this year, they didn't seach our cars though. the reason for the wait was that their computers had gone down so they couldn't scan tickets.
