Exactly where is the separate VIP entrance and how does it not become a parking lot? We crawled along for 5 hours last year to get to regular camping. How do they keep the VIP entrance clear?

actually i don't know how, i just know it works.
VIP at B'port has moved around over the years, but it's always been by the school, outside of the site.
i think we get 2 or 3 people inspecting each car, so that may be part of it too.
my only non vip was @ ILCC, fun times - getting to know new friends.

accessible camping is right next to VIP, but we don't get to go through their secret entrance, I know roughly where it is because some of the security folks checking late arrivals were stationed right next to my camp, nice people

it has been reported that some VIP'ers have spent the entire weekend trying to find the secret entrance. this really helps to speed things up for those in the know.

seriously though, the entrance is rather low-key and historically not very well marked...better marked last year but still easy to miss
dont let them tell you to get in line for general camping! one year we kept driving in a loop cuz people with flags had NO IDEA where vip was

but for the past coupla years it has been in a school parking lot...just follow signs for gotv and keep an eye PEELED for the sign for vip check-in...its a big tent in the rear of a lot next to a school...you park in that lot and get in line to get your credentials, then you get your vehicle in line to be searched
just keep in mind to pack your coolers in an accessible area in your car so its easily openable to speed up the search
and dont forget a fire extinguisher if you have a grill or gas lantern!

Must of been 100 signs for it last year...look for the main entrance to the park, turn right for about a minute, park, get asked to move to another spot, park, walk to the tent, back to your car and wait for the golf cart escort.

yes indeed. The directions to the VIP check in is sent along with the ticket info.

I have my VIP info print out, and there not any directions... Just a print out to put on my dashboard that says I am VIP

Nod, directions will be emailed to you in July once traffic flow has been finalized.

Please, once you exit the highway... PUT YOUR TRAVEL PASS IN YOUR WINDOW! Traffic team will be watching for it, and if you happen to miss the turn off for VIP, they will notice it right away.

As for keeping the VIP entrance clear, of course its a bit congested at 8 am, but we have a team of aces ready to get you in and settled! All you need is a good cup of coffee (for me of course) and a little love and patience.

1999..this will be it's 4th festival...Nateva 2010, Vibes 2010, 2011 and now Vibes 2012. I'll be there right about 8 or however long it takes to get to the VIP entrance...Rhode Island plates. We hook up and have a good ole time!

I sure do miss Nateva...My son and I had a great time. We camped with some Canadians and have kept in touch. They are going to Bonnaroo and will be staying with us for the weekend! That's why I love Festivals, you meet people and sometimes they stay in your life. Maybe I can talk them into coming to Vibes!
