Hey boardies, haven't really been on the boards that much this semester (this may actually be my first post on the new boards), but wanted to say hi!!!

Currently contemplating Floyd Fest and possibly All Good or even the Vibes for summer festivals depending on how finances go this summer. Sadly I think this will be my first year since 2004 that I don't go to Stonehenge. But I'm going to NYC the week before (have to for a conference) and it's just too much travel for two weekends in a row now that I live so far away. Also going to be in NYC/NJ in mid June and Denver Colorodo in late August for conferences, and would love to meet up with boardies for dinner or something while I'm eat either place.

Hoping to see some of you lovely people this summer. I've been following some of you on facebook and it seems we're going to have about a million boardie babies this year! Very exciting!

North Carolina is super great, I really love it here, but the one thing it doesn't have is you guys, and I miss y'all. I've made some hippie/music friends here (including the deadhead sociologist lady- who is my new show buddy!) but it's not the same as rolling into a Philly Breadbox Band or U-melt show and seeing like 10 or 20 boardie faces in the crowd. I guess those bands don't even exist anymore and all good things must come to an end, but lately I feel like I'm going to be looking back at grad school/living in philly as my awesome hippie/music days that are now over, which is just depressing....since moving here I've been to about 4 shows/year vs. my philly regular 20-30/year. Definitely need to work on that this summer....

I'm going to try...problem is not a lot of heady bands coming through this area, we get a good jam band playing like once a month.

I need to check out the local fiddle and bow scene at some point, that might be neat.

I would love to come to the vibes but it's like a 12 hour drive, and since my regular driving buddy isn't going this year, and my husband definitely isn't going, it's going to be tough- that's a lot of driving by myself. I haven't completely counted it out yet though...anyone interested in driving up together from the NC Triad area?

I just saw her this weekend! I will give her a hug for you next time I see her. Hopefully we can hang when I'm in NY indeed! Not exactly sure what dates I'll be there yet, have to coordinate with my brother since I'm crashing at his place, but I'll let you know when I know!
