Hmmm.. Did not know there was a quick grit, must be a tad slower than an instant. The only grits Tabbooma has ever tried was at Rothbury, they served up some cajun spice with shrimp grits, they were pretty darn good... What do you put on plain grits?

instant grits suck. quick grits take about 5 minutes to cook and have much less crap than the instant ones.

nothing if you want them to remain plain.

i like mine with cheese if it's for breakfast. shrimp and grits in nola makes for an excellent dinner.

Okay, curious how many people eat grits in the northeast, Cur did mama cur feed them to you when you were a young cur? Nevrmore were you raised on them? Tabbooma is aware they are a southern staple, just never saw or ate them growing up. Tabbooma's gonna give them regular grits a try and will report back to you all.

i discovered grits on my own. growing up in a jewish household in new jersey, grits were not a mainstay.

now grits, along with cream of wheat and oatmeal, are readily available in my cupboard.

Tabbooma grew up not only in an Irish Catholic house but an Irish Catholic neighborhood, grits were no where to be found, actually neither was spaghetti... No grits in Tabbooma's pantry.. Going to work on that... Grits and maple syrup?
