Don't you think the face jokes are getting a little old now? Your ruining the board with that crap.

I have to say, the 'face' thing is one of the things that turns me off on this board. It's just so overdone and is in what seems to be, every thread. I'll start reading a thread and then there it is. So, I typically stop reading and get the hell out of there....

I came to these boards cuz I love the vibes and want to broaden my music tastes....

I've been super super super busy at work. I don't think I've even checked this site during normal working hours since August.
I pop in occasionally at night, but haven't been around for the most part. I'm very excited however to be back in New England and to be going to the Vibes for the first time in 6 years.

I've been here since 2002 and there used to be a lot of lively discussions (and arguing) and interesting topics posted here. Then a few years ago a (very) few folks started to post PAGES of nonsense in those interesting discussion threads. when people mentioned how that was not necessarily inviting in the conversations (over and over again) they were BOMBARDED with insults by those few juvenile people and, in turn, those same folks upped their nonsense posting in every thread. After a while this became a major turnoff to many posters. Facebook was becoming more user friendly so many of those folks stopped posting here and started doing all their social networking elsewhere.

If this is you, and you justify this behavior over and over ad nauseum about this being who you are, take it or leave it .. then yes, folks are talking about you. If you honestly believe you're the center of everyone's universe, and if you're not now, you'll just MAKE yourself the center of everyone's universe, like it or not, then yes, you are turning folks off to this board. It's definitely narcissist in nature to not care how your behavior effects your community, or a community you claim to care about, imho.

I'm totally amused by a lot of the silliness here, but I think when it invades every topic (that's allowed to stay in the family forum) it can be a turnoff.

I feel like its been like that since I started... the comic relief is always something I appreciated. I remember Bukkakke was written in every thread, talk of llamas, and chicken pot pie, sue the donkey, and the hoff, and the Why do you say that?... All of the jokes entwined into the thread is something I love about this place.

sometimes I feel like when a joke is brought into something serious... but I expect it. And this place wouldnt be the same without it. this being said...I agree when jokes get old, they get old...but they take time to fade away to make room for new jokes.

For the record, I think there is a good healthy mix of fool comments and ser biz on these boards and in most threads. It wouldn't be the Vibes boards if there wasn't a good mix of either, imho.

I dig all the folks I have met from here, I don't really look at anyone as annoying. Some THINGS may be annoying from time-to-time, but the people? Nope, I'm good with pretty much everyone here, and the annoying stuff isn't annoying enough to do much other than slide off the proverbial duck's back as far as I'm concerned.

I do miss the old boards, tho. I think they worked better for our community. Will these new boards stop me from posting and sharing in these forums? Not likely, altho I will admit that I'm not on here as much b/c the white is overbearing for me to look at for too long.

Anyways, I think it's good that this discussion was started - it seems to have pulled more than a few folks I hadn't seen here in awhile out of the woodwork, and it is always good to see old friends!
