I love how everything was perfect here before I came...and once I showed up six years ago...everything turned to shit. That's kind of racist.
I don't see the same people over posting...

soooo...traffic is less because the only people talking are talking to much? whatever happened to starting your own threads...and having multiple conversations...with multiple people? thats just a cop-out
It's not a cop out in my opinion.
To me it seems like the majority of posts in threads lately are the same people, saying the same things, and it just doesn't interest me.

We don't have our own interweb connection yet - we're borrowing a signal and it's slow as molasses running uphill in January. 
I have design gigs that I am behind on and they are taking up more of my free time than I thought they would.
I'm also trying to limit my time online and get more out of everyday life in the "real world" - not that I don't love ya's, but with most of the design work being finished up on the computer, I don't want to spend my downtown on the computer, too. I NEED TO GET AWAY FROM THE GLOWING SCREEN - Ahhhhhhh!
Also, there is less content here for me to reply to than in years past. Could somebody do something about that, please?
Oh, and the smileys suck!

The fact that this community is shrinking and the discussions are not what they used to be is because of many factors. The most recent board change is huge. I mean, we went from the best board this place has ever seen to this place, which I can't stand, and which not one person has said 'oh, good move'! Mostly it's 'I hate it but maybe it will get better'. Well, that sucks.
Also contributing is the decision by Terrapin to purposely stifle interesting or controversial topics by shuffling them off to not read forums. I really believe this is the major factor for the decline in this place. Keeping everything drama-free ALL the time also makes everythig fuckign boring. Life is drama. This place was once a place where people couple discuss the issues of the day. Now it's a place where we can discuss nothing controversial. That's not now I live my life, and it's not how I want to be on a message board.
As for my overposter comment, I've obviously ruffled some overposting feathers here. Look, there have always been quote-unquote overposters here. It's not new. Sarah B, Mark/Marpa, Thuggie, Baby Blue, DHJ, Habit, hoagie, TEO in the past year, and many many others over the years. Let's just call them power users. It's not their posts that are bad or that they are bad people (many are my friends), or even doing the wrong thing, it's just that when you see the same people talking every day, and not much else going on, and they're posting about everyday stuff, you just stop wanting to read all the posts after a while. Now that there's less traffic here, these posters' content is even more prevalent.
This is just something I've observed, but not the main reason this place is dying. And it is, and has been, for the past couple years.
