Shaping up as another great tourney.
With my Sabres ineligible, I'm rooting for all my other teams.
But mostly I'm hoping Dustin Brown wins, and brings the Cup to Ithaca .... and if by some miracle he brought it to pickup hockey that he's sometimes played in, well that would be crazy!

Definitely been entertaining thus far. Shannahan has been a busy guy. Not sure I agree with his suspension of Backstrom for tomorrow's game. It was a dirty play on Peverly, but I don't think worth sitting a guy down during the playoffs due to lack of injury. I thought a fine would have been sufficient.
Looking forward to tomorrow night's B's game. I'm sure Claude is telling Looch to let it go, but I'd be shocked if he doesn't go after Alzner.

awesome vicious first round so far
some teams are even getting down to some hockey now
the Senators comeback tonight was unbelievable love the work ethic
to think the drafted talent is still on the way up for this team they could be lethal in two years

I'll be watching that from the DVR at some point in the next 24.
Flyers-Pen is interesting. I didn't expect Flyers to be able to win last night. Too much to ask after that shellacking in game 4. But maybe they got enough back into it to let them back in. They have to wrap it up in Game 6 or they will likely be added to the ranks of epic chokers.
But WTF Giroux? Game is over and you destroy your stick in anger on the pipes? Dude, I could use that stick (and yes, I'm a rightie shooter too)

i was enjoying the flyers pens up until i realized there would be winner to that series. i guess i was under the impression early on there would only be losers there.
damn one of the despised will actually advance.
so anyway looking forward to tonight's nail biter...tortorella gets his change back tonight and the rags do well with the extra coaching

I'm quite happy that every game is being televised.
Great win for the Sens. Cool first assist for the 19 year old Stoner. I'm happy with either team moving on... fans of both, especially w/ Sabres left out of the tourney
Mike Francessa of 660-AM WFAN would say.
"if youre a fan of bothy you're a fan of neither." I'm not sure I agree with that. I root for both Giants and Jets.

Great wins for the Bs and Kings. You couldn't write a better ending to the despicable Canucks season. Giving up the puck and trying to draw a penalty as the winning goal is scored...
Vancouver didn't deserve the series, but that was a rough way to lose it. "trying" to draw a penalty? he was spun around with a stick between his arms and body after being checked off the puck, ensuring he'd have no chance to make a play on it. if it was a football (soccer) match, the referee would've blown the play dead the minute the Kings picked up the abandoned biscuit. if the Canucks had grabbed it, they would've ruled play on. but the refs don't blow the whistle in overtime unless someone breaks a stick over another players head.

I think you mean 2-2. I couldn't see his foot touch the puck (clearly it went over the puck, and maybe it touched it, but I couldn't tell) and he was pushed into LundvquistShould have been 3-1. .
Anyway, bad calls are part of the game. Sens should not have been in that situation, and they were because they took a stupid penalty

I don't think it's that clear. when you're being slammed into the cage your foot moves (though I think it doesn't matter that the kicking motion was caused by being slammed into the cage). The question is did the skate make contact? Maybe, maybe not. As plausible is that Lundqvist's stick hit it while he was trying to smother it. Those pucks do funny things.
There just wasn't definitive proof. He might have kicked it in, might not have. You're pretty much acknowledging that by talking about the laws of physics instead of saying you can see his blade touching the puck

road teams are winning nearly 2 out of every 3 games so far this playoffs. unreal.
that puts the Caps, Sens, and Devs in the driver's seat (statistically speaking)...however my predictions are the B's, Rangers, and Devs play another round of iced hockey.

Wow I was mistaken. It looks like we get Ottawa or the Rangers next.
they re-seed after every round. if the Bs win, they'd get the Sens if Ottawa wins, the Flyers if the Rangers and Devils win, or the Panthers if the Devils lose. they can not face the Rangers in the next round.

I tuned in a minute or two before the 1st goal of the game and I also used that... saying they Capitalized on a little flub.. just missed picking up the pick and boom.. that's how NHLers can make you pay
Entertaining game.
"Keep playing the same fucking way. Good job" . Not sure who was saying that, but it was good hearing a little of the line, like Chara's 'good job son'
I want to say Thomas had a mediocre game, but actually he came up big a few times, including a nice aggressive poke check of Ovechkin (when he took Ovie down) . I think Thomas is beat without making that play.

I would have been 2-1and i'm now 0-for-1 on my game 7 predictions.
I realize I was actually just picking who I was rooting for. Note: Deciding who to root for in the Rangers-Sens was tough. I went with the team who hasn't seen the cup in forever.
