In addition to the music, this year's Gathering of the Vibes will feature an assortment of extra attractions. There will be a School of Rock Stage as well as a Kids Corner and Teen Scene; the latter will feature the hands-on technological display of concert sound and lighting equipment that was popular last year.
The Silent Disco -- a late-night party at which attendees dance on the Seaside Park beach with headphones rather than listening to a sound system -- will return, as will the
World Peace Sanctuary parade and flag ceremony on Sunday morning.
There will also be a ferris wheel and a full array of waterfront activities such as jet skis, sailboats, paddle boats and swimming.

I remember looking over at 'The Wheel' during Furthur's set last year and thinking how cool it would be to be on that thing.... the only downfall would be the songs that you can't fully enjoy as your waiting in line/paying for the ticket and what not.

I swear there used to be a page on the vibes website that talked about the wheel, boats and disco but now that my girlfriend wants to read about it, I cant find it anywhere and she doesnt believe me.
Anyone know where the page is, or if there ever was one?

Ok - Not sure what the origin of this information is, but it seems to be a misunderstanding/miscommunication -
YES we will have a ferris wheel - size unconfirmed.
No, Vibes will not be providing water rides. No paddle boats, or Jetskiis.

I believe it was in the Rolling Stone article. My first thought was whoa that sounds unsafe.

Unsafe? It sounds bloody awesome and I was SO excited for the prospect! Oh well.
I'm recruiting for a new ferris wheel partner, although you've got a lot to live up to!

I figured the boating had to be wrong, that just seemed like an accident waiting to happen. Is swimming allowed though? I know last time I was there someone had gone out to a sand bar and slept out there. Two of the people coming with me have been bugging me to make sure they can swim.

I always try to get some kind of organized swim together at high tide. It's good to have a big group so you can all spot for each other if someone gets caught in a current or something. But so far the best I've done is two other people with one chickening out at the last minute.

What about magic carpets? Surely there will be magic carpet rides again. I know I rode one a couple times last year.
The magic carpet rides are the best. No two rides are the same, but they always make you scream "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Again, again"
