I posted this picture on my FB page...

And someone responded in a comment "Jeremiah 1:5"

So, of course I look it up... And I really dont understand what the connection really is...

"Now the word of the Lord came to me saying, 'Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I haw appointed you a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5)." I know its a pro-life reference... But seriously. Is this what Pro-lifers consider is God's way of saying that woman can't make their own descisions?
I dont know how to respond to the comment.

not that I'm really looking for an answer... but I guess I'm pretty shocked that I got a religious quote.

This was in the same passage..... "God knew each of us; what our strengths and weaknesses; abilities and limitation would be. He knew us in this way even before we were born. He has also appointed us to become like Jesus as we follow in His steps; "For whom He foreknew He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the first-horn among many brethren." (Romans 8:29). It is up to us as to whether we will accept God's appointment or not, just as it was up to Jeremiah."

I guess what she is saying is that fetus's are people before the fetus is really born. ?

Of course women can't make their own decisions. You're the ones that took the apple from a snake and got us kicked out of Eden in the first place. all the evil in the world and all the misfortune started there. if it wasn't for that stupid bitch, Eve, we'd all be living it up. And so somehow now we should trust you to get it right?

Adam needed a second wife so he could have her to capitulate, first one was cast out of the garden. When Tabbooma tries that stuff with the little frog he gets whacked good ;)

LOL!!

Sean, Seriously... would you please write that same comment on my wall? LOL.

In all Ser-Biz... My brother feels I'm a hypocrite for believing in freedom of choice, because I am adopted.

Women can still make choices, Dave. Probably more choices when they actually have healthcare.

I know you asked my thoughts on this, Nik. I really don't have any. Unless we want to start an abortion debate, which I'm so not up for. lol

I will say, quoting the Old Testament as an explanation or defense of something, doesn't work for me, so the person's rebuttal doesn't hold a lot of weight in my eyes. You should respond with this. lol

I'm more wondering if I'm seriously a hypocrite, because of the fact that I'm adopted, and I believe in the freedom of choice? Maybe I am.

My brother and sister in law moved down to Tenn. & now they have become these religious freaks... I need responses like that!

I would agree with that. But that does not address Obama saying that they can make their own choices then mandating them to make choices. It's about the ultimate in doublespeak.

Dave, coming from someone who does not have healthcare right now, I'm honestly torn about that.

Well, sure. That makes sense. But in language mandates are antithetical to choices. Women (and everyone else for that matter) are either perfectly capable of making their own choices, or they are not and a mandate must be issued to narrow the choice in based on authorative decision regarding healthcare. Both can not work in tandem. Hence, the doublespeak from the president.
