my favorite part of each day at schweaty vibes (last year), was the exact moment the sun dipped behind the skyline and the entire park erupted into clapping, cheers and cries of "YAY! FINALLY!" and people started crawling out from under shelter, ready to rage
i have never seen the energy at a vibes change so drastically from one hour to the next its like someone flicked the freak switch and everyone came to life
where i was on saturday, the rally cry when the sun finally hit the branches of this one group of trees was "victory is OUUUURRRSSSS!!!!!!"

Yes I vote for 2010 weather! Perfect all weekend long! Barring that, I vote for more than 2 spigots to fill you container with city water and some kind of cooling station. Filtered filling stations I'm guessing are way out of the question.
shouldn't be. Greyfox brings in tanker containers of water & have multiple spigots per container. There must be at least 10 of them scattered around the campground & 1 on the main field. They're awesome!!

I highly recommend the camel-pack!! we bought them last year, and it legitimately saved me. Dumped ice in it, and it kept my back cool too.... it wasn't 100% suckage due to that saving grace.
They made my brother empty his ice/spring water filled camel pack everytime he tried to get through with it.
"You can fill it up inside", they said.

i decided to sit most of the hottest part of the day under a heavy shade tree near the water, allowing the nice warm
breezes to get some airflow on my skin. i'm fair skinned, so i decided early on to avoid the field and the sun and a severe burn (the
thought of lathering myself in that thick, slimy SPF50 lotion in the oven-like, oppressive heat never crossed my mind).
i sat in my camping chair with my feet up, slowly sipping a harpoon IPA (in a can of course) and listening to the music from a distance. boardies
would come and go as i slowly consumed. i kept a few bottled waters nearby to ensure proper hydration.
i meditated under that tree and gradually felt myself go into a trance-like state.
the heat enveloped my body and the intense relaxation gave me a feeling of euphoria like i'd never experienced before. it was
incredible! i sat in that camping chair for hours, only getting up for the occasional run to the porta-shitter.
when the sun finally started to dip, i dumped a bucket of ice cold water over my head and prepared for furthur.
it was a memorable day to say the least!

[Yes, I am aware that only I could turn a woman on and at the same time it make her cold to me.]

I'm a huge cheerleader for vibes in general but that was just shameful. Shame shame shame. Anything less than as much water as you want, in any sort of container, anywhere you want it is negligent and extortionist.

ditto
ditto
a thousand times ditto
i cant express how much this issue bothers me
last year it was CRIMINAL how tough they made it to hydrate
EVERY checkpoint would make you dump your water
complete idiocy and i have NO IDEA how vibes dodged someone dying of heatstroke
if it wasnt for our environment of taking care of each other, this ludicrous rule would surely have led to tragic results
i LOVE how ken took care of the nitrous problem, or at least made it not so pervasive, i just wish he considered this the problem that it is! i know the "official" rule was one sealed water on the field BUT not all security knew this! countless times i was told i couldnt have my water
i had to resort to hiding it like it was moonshine or something

The thing is Ken & company listen. They proved that with nitrious. They are sometimes slow to listen (2009 had a "zero tolerance NOZ policy!). I hope the H2O complaints were loud enough to hear the firat time....

this was the painfully obvious solution to last year's heat and water-dumping policies. complete no-brainer to call in a water supply company to send over a truck - super easy solution to a serious risk. a quick google turns up 6 companies in the immediate area providing that service.shouldn't be. Greyfox brings in tanker containers of water & have multiple spigots per container. There must be at least 10 of them scattered around the campground & 1 on the main field. They're awesome!!
i was asked only once to dump a water bottle full of ice and water - i flatly told the girl that her request was medically dangerous, and kept walking. i think they yelled after me, but i didn't pay them any mind. no one should have any qualms in politely disobeying a dangerous and uninformed command.

Attendees walking from the Camping Areas into General Assembly areas may pass through security check points with:
1-24 oz sealed or unsealed water per person. No CamelBacks. No Coolers.
Any non-alcohol beverage purchased from a food vendor may pass through security check points.
Per state law, you cannot bring alcohol into the concert or General Assembly areas.
Any container larger than 24 oz needs to be emptied and can be refilled at our free water stations - (There will be several - one specifically located at the Food Court)

do you mean the one (two?) existing water fountain(s) in the grassy area opposite the food court that generate tremendous lines? the key question is if you're augmenting the existing infrastructure with any new water sources, or if they're the same as before.here is the policy for this year.... Any container larger than 24 oz needs to be emptied and can be refilled at our free water stations - (There will be several - one specifically located at the Food Court)

what possible reason would there be other than to sell water?
it is shameful, plain and simple
if it IS due to wanting to sell more water, then i am very disappointed in ken and company
they certainly do not have enough potable water onsite, imho
this just really irks me and i wish someone would address this and change the rule to allowing folks to NOT use plastic bottles and to hydrate as needed...
shame on terrapin
