I dislike the arogance with which is stated his opinion, but in general I agree with him.

Bob Costas is an asshole.  he's always smug, and always better than us.

the only one worse is Jim Nance.  they should do a porn together.

And I have not been to a game since Curtis Martin Hurt his Knee and ended his career.  I remember him getting hurt in the 4pm game on my ride home while driving home from game.  Oh and Mets won 4-0 I think.

What was that 2006 (Shea).  Still have not been to Citifield.

I chose the Philadelphia Union.

Red bulls were around, but I never cared.  I have been to a Union match, and other events at PPL.

Plus I wore my Union T short to Hooligan day.  So I waved my allegiance flag, and well many boardies saw me wearing this shirt too at March of the Daves.

Last night I had to pick my wife up at JFK. On my way to the airport I passed Citi Field with the Mets trailing in the 8th. I fully expected to hit traffic on the way back, but I passed the ballpark going the other direction in the 12th inning. It looked pretty empty from what I could see from the Van Wyck. I was safely in the Bronx by the time the Mets won it.

'Baseball Wives' Star
Arrested for Felony Assault
After Alleged Gun Threat
Exclusive
0708-anna-benson-arrest-mug-shot-article
Former "Baseball Wives" star Anna Benson -- the estranged wife of ex-pitcher Kris Benson -- was arrested this morning in Georgia ... after allegedly raiding Kris' apartment with a gun and a metal baton, all while wearing a bulletproof vest.

According to law enforcement, Kris -- who filed for divorce last year -- reported that Anna showed up in a rage last night after being forced by the court to vacate their marital home. Kris says Anna arrived and immediately whipped out an "expandable metal baton," threatening to hit him.

But it didn't stop there ... Kris told police Anna then pulled out a handgun and demanded money. She must have been expecting Kris to pull a gun on her too ... because she was allegedly wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the alleged assault.

0708-kris-benson-getty-3.jpg
According to the police report, Kris told Anna he would get her the money following the altercation ... but then left the home and called police instead.

Anna -- a former FHM model -- was arrested this morning and booked on 4 counts ... 2 counts of felony aggravated assault with a weapon, 1 count of criminal trespass, and 1 count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

She is currently still in custody. Anna is famous for her outlandish behavior on "Baseball Wives" ... including pulling out a 12" dildo and threatening to hit her castmates with it. She also famously threatened to sleep with the entire Mets team if Kris ever cheated on her.

Lots of Biogenesis news has come out in the past few minutes. We have news of three new names in the Biogenesis scandal, a couple being cleared as well as more news of players agreeing not to appeal and to server their suspensions.

The new names: The Mets Jordany Valdespin, the Phillies Antonio Bastardo and the Astros Segio Escalona are all going to receive 50-game suspensions.

Part of the rush to get the Biogenesis suspensions announced now was to allow major leaguers could finish their bans this year (and thus not appeal said bans). Things won’t go so smoothly for minor leaguers, though. Of the 13 players about to be suspended by Major League Baseball, five are not on 40-man rosters and will have to continue serving out their suspensions next year, a source familiar with the investigation told NBCSports.com’s Craig Calcaterra . Those five are:

Mets outfielder Cesar Puello
Astros reliever Sergio Escalona
Yankees outfielder Fernando Martinez
Free agent reliever Jordan Norberto
Free agent reliever Fautino De Los Santos

Puello, the lone prospect of the group, has had a breakthrough 2013 season and is hitting .328/.405/.550 with 16 homers and 24 steals for Double-A Binghamton. The 22-year-old had never posted an .800 OPS at any level before coming in at .955 in his first go-round in the Eastern League.

I made a bet with a coworker from Chicago before the season that the mets would have better record than the Cubs or the White Sox.  If only one, it would be a push.  I checked today, can't believe I am winning at the moment and the mets are 9 games under .500

Mets           54-63

Cubs          52-67  3 back

White Sox  46-72   8 1/2 back

Might get two free lunches out of this.

This series against LA is tough.  LA is playing amazing ball right now.  The San Diego games should be better for us.  Looking over the schedule I see it very possible for us to end the season at .500.

Adam Rubin keeps saying NO, when asked this question on Twitter, also they say no to him playing outfield.

Not Met related, but fascinating...

"60 Minutes" has learned that members of New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez's inner circle in February obtained and leaked documents that implicated Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun as well as his own Yankees teammate, catcher Francisco Cervelli, in the doping scandal that has enveloped Major League Baseball.

The leak came just days after the weekly newspaper Miami New Times published documents in January detailing Rodriguez's pervasive use of performance enhancing drugs.

The handwritten documents of Anthony Bosch, the key witness in Major League Baseball's PED investigation, revealed comprehensive doping regimens that Bosch had engineered for a host of professional athletes. His cooperation with MLB has resulted in the suspension of Rodriguez and 13 other major league players.

Braun and Cervelli's names were redacted in the Miami New Times documents. Members of Rodriguez's camp at the time obtained unredacted versions and leaked them to Yahoo! Sports, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter. The unredacted documents also implicated Baltimore Oriole Danny Valencia, who MLB later investigated and cleared.

In a statement to "60 Minutes," Rodriguez lawyer David Cornwell said, "The allegations are untrue and are another attempt to harm Alex -- this time by driving a wedge between Alex and other players in the game. While Alex focuses on baseball and repeatedly states that he is going to respect the appeal process, the drumbeat of false allegations continues."

Will be a shame to lose Flores.  We just don't have a spot for 'em.  Murphy is entrenched at 2nd, Davis (when hitting) has first locked down.  Flores, while he's played some shortstop in the minors is definitely not a shortstop.  Hopefully we can get a real shortstop or a quality outfielder for 'em.
