I think Pelfrey has a spot in next years rotation (you ain't gonna be able to trade 'em coming off Tommy John). I don't think we'll see Wheeler in NY till 2014 prolly.
Wheeler is scheduled for Sunday's start, according to Adam Ruebin. He tweeted this earlier today.
Pelfrey is a free agent after this year, although we may tender his Arbitration. Otherwise he is gone.

But ... Jeurys Familia, Jennry Mejia, Zach Lutz, and Reese Havens are, and we should see them in September as the Mets play out the ... er ... come down the stretch.

I thought IASW said Wheeler is moving up to Buffalo, not to the majors yet.
(and according to baseball-reference.com Pelf isn't a free agent till 2014)
He is arbitration eligible. Will we tender him? If we do not tender him, then he is a free agent.
He only signed a one year deal for 5.8 ish before last season.
I am ok with moving on from Big Pelf.

Wheeler will not be in majors this year, due to innings limit if for no other reason. Should be shut down around end of August. Limit is 165.
Word is that Dickey will be pitching on 3 days rest for most of the remaining games. I worry about the old guy holding up. If he can perform well under these conditions and not get hurt. I am ok with extending him. If not, you know how I feel about 40 year old baseball players.
Santana should be back next week.

Why are we overusing Dickey from here on in instead of running out a cast of youngns for a cup of coffee? They're surely not attempting to make the playoffs, right? Because if they break Dickey, I'm buying one of those steak sandwiches and throwing it at Sandy Alderson.
That does seem to be the case. Try and make one last push.
Although I agree. Dickey is old for a baseball player, even with the knuckle ball.

If you're free, do it. Its a really nice little stadium and a fun place to see a game. And WAY cheaper than Citifield.

Do you realize we went to the last Mets home win?
Sadly...I do. Gonna be some scene next year at the all-star game when our lone representatives are the ball boys.
Nah, things will get better. We knew this was going to happen if they didn't address their issues. They slumped, front office decided to put it in their pocket and wait til next year at the trade deadline. Looking like the sage decision.

The Mets acquired catcher Kelly Shoppach from the Red Sox on Tuesday for a player to be named later.
The Mets placed a waiver claim on the 32-year-old catcher from Fort Worth, Texas. Shoppach, who has spent his entire eight-year career in the American League, batted .250 with five home runs, 12 doubles and 17 RBIs in 48 games for Boston this season.
Shoppach has a career .227 batting average with the Indians, Rays and Red Sox. He belted a career-high 21 home runs for Cleveland in 2008.
In 2009, despite playing in just 89 games, Shoppach was hit by a pitch 18 times, which led the AL.

So, who is Shoppach and why do the Mets need another catcher?
