Least when these Mets lose, they get their asses handed to 'em early enough that I can go do something else w/the rest of my night.

offense aside, both pitchers are buzzing through the first 5 innings. 66 pitches for Lohse, 68 for Gee, each having 15 recorded outs. great stuff, old-timey NL baseball at its best. this could be a 2-hour game.

The gameday pic of Gee .... his beard looks added with a marker
#1 please? or #2 if #1 not available?
Old school NL baseball: Tom Seaver and Bob Gibson pitching like they were double-parked outside.

I don't see Ramirez stickin round too much longer. I hope Mejia is ready soon.
Word on Ramirez is that is usually gets a little overwhelmed at first appearance or two, and then dominates that level. Let's juts hope that works at the major league level. He had same MO at all minor league stops this year.

WTF happened to the defense last night? That was horrendous. Parnell should have shut that shit down. If I were him I would have balked in the winning run and given Valdespin & Murphy the finger as I walked off the field.

I think Ramirez getting three strikeouts in his first inning was a good sign. WTF happened to the defense last night? That was horrendous. Parnell should have shut that shit down. If I were him I would have balked in the winning run and given Valdespin & Ike the finger as I walked off the field.
Fixed that for ya. That 9th inning was ugly!
oofa!
When does Ike start playing better? I think it is more than two weeks since I brought up bringing in Miggy for 3 years at 20 mill. All I got was no way, believe in Ike. Ike is about to breakout.
I still hold out hope and will root for Ike as long as he is on the 25 man roster, but patience is wearing thin.
