Phillip Humber has had a non career w/now one special game in it. We sign 'em in '04. He needs Tommy John surgery in '05, is traded to The Twins '08, designated for assignment in '09, signs minor league deal w/the Royals winter '09, gets put out on the waiver wire winter '10 and is claimed first by the A's, who put 'em back on waivers and is then picked up by The Twins. He doesn't play a full season in the majors until 2011...at age 28. Not quite the career The Mets expected from their '04 1st round (w/a $3.7 mil signing bonus) draft pick.

I'll take what we've gotten from of Johan, who is who we acquired when we traded away Humber, over having a perfect game on the record books any day.
