Worst is watching Phillies games and Tom McCarthy comes on. I always think, wait that voice, oh yeah. It always confuses me.

it's over.
as of Daniel Murphy's bloop single, i'm no longer 0-for-Citi Field
sec 513, row 3, seat 7 - and i had a gNats BP home run ripped out of my bare hands by a dude with a glove in the 5th row of the Left Field Landing...which i was somewhat grateful for, as it hurt like hell (i'd never barehanded one off the bat before...it's not as easy as Kevin Mitchell made it look), but that was somewhat disappointing, as if he wasn't behind me, i think i had it (pain and all)

as for Pelf, he was frustrating as always. he needs better command but when the ball's sinking, they're not going to hit it out of the park. and it was sinking, so we can't complain. he maee up for giving up 3 runs by doubling to start the comeback.
great energy, light crowd (a cold monday night in early April, understandable).

While Pelf was frustrating as usual I'll give him credit for battling through 5 2/3 (although has to finish that 6th inning with 2 outs and nobody on) after struggling early. The fact that he was throwing hard and didn't completely fall apart was somewhat encouraging.
No credit.
Maybe if he stopped worried about licking his hands he would be a better pitcher and be the next Brandon Webb (dominant sinker ball pitcher) they billed him as when he came up.

It's hard to believe he was ever this young, and look at all those empty seats in the Polo Grounds.

Nice article in the NY Times about Ralph Kiner. http://www.nytimes.c...=2&ref=baseball It's hard to believe he was ever this young, and look at all those empty seats in the Polo Grounds.
One of my co-workers gave me a copy of the article (good read) and told me a story about being at a game when he was 12-13. He & a friend were walknig near the broadcast booth, the door flies open & Ralph Kiner comes flying out. He races to a nearby bar yelling "SCOTCH!!" The bartender puts a glass full of it in front of him, he downs it & races back into the booth.
