they've been talking about this an awful lot. i hate every second of it. probably going to happen, eventually. which is sad.
Once the Astros get forced to the AL next year there's going to be Interleague play every night of the year. At that point its going to be very odd to have the leagues combined in everyway but one.

I'm expecting some creative ways of losing ball games this year.
that's the spirit!
my Mom was disappointed when we took her to a game during the 90's dry years and she realized that the "long-ball hitting good Polish boy" she had envisioned listening to games on the radio wasn't named Butchoski but rather Butch Huskey. it's these kind of disappointments we can only hope to match this season.

The last remaining piece of the Minaya regime....Bay's contract.
Most certainly the luckiest day of Bay's life.
btw Frank Francisco signed a 2 yr $12 million deal??
What team could be as poorly managed would they possibly be outbidding?
Why didn't they simply set the money on fire at Citi Field and watch it burn????

I think you are forgetting Santana. After this year we still have 2 years at $50 million. Minaya signed him.
Although I do not blame the GM. I blame the owners for approving these bad contracts. The point that makes me say this is ... People in baseball call Fred Wilpon a Baseball guy. He knows his baseball. He is not just some rish guy who bought the team. He knows his baseball. Which makes how he runs this team worse in my opinion.

Isiah Thomas was a basketball guy. Didn't stop him from ruining the CBA, the Pacers, and the Knicks.....(maybe the Knicks again)

Of course that leads back to Andy's statement that the owners should have known better and held the line a bit more.
But what did they care, as long as the Ponzi scheme was printing free money for them...

So I guess a night game then. As long as we have enough notice (not a game next week) then I am down. I have lots of vacation days to use up since not going on a real vacation this year.
cool. mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays are usually the cheapest tickets, especially before June 1 and against less-popular competition. Matt, Mel, Chris, you want to do some research into probables?

Only thing that might be a hiccup for people is this I Mon the 28th is Memorial Day. Not sure if people have plans for it. Either way, there are 3 7:10 starts that week (Mon, Tues, and Wed). If you want a rider, you can reach out to Vic, he might be down to take the ride back and forth with ya.

Nothing is sold out yet at Citifield this year. There's still tix available for opening day and (I think) the Mets/Yankees series. Sounds good to me.
