the Mets have been absolutely consistent on the road. they win one of three games, every series. how much more consistent do you want?

Yeah, I was thinking of the behind homeplate service at Shea--those guys were always good. Haven't done the beer concierge thing at Citi.

...next time I'll wait for someone else to do it first (the poorman's concierge service ) to check on their progression before I do that again. maybe it's only done when the seats are in close proximity to a food and beer area

The guy I went with, a die-hard Phillies fan, confessed that their biggest fear is Optimal Reyes. We saw that last night. What we didn't see was our biggest fear, Jimmy Rollins. I enjoyed watching Ryan Howard look like a fool going after change-ups. Change, strike 2. Another change, strike 3. Twice!

LOL...top of 6th inning tonight is classic...the shift and Howard grounding out to end inning. efff man 25 nnings of shutout ball...that is just unacceptable esp when Hamels is pitching solid. Pelfrey is obv outpitching him..looking like an ace these days. Always helps to have two aces on your staff. oo and now ibanez caught stealing and diving catch to end top of 7th. This has been a miserable series for me at least...2 more innings to rally back ..if not good series Mets fans. Giving credit when it is due

i hope these starters keep it up, and I don't have to hear anything about ollie unless the game seems decided by the 3rd inning.

Friday night was tough to swallow, but Corey Hart proves he's not kidding by homering in his next two at-bats against the Mets on Saturday. 3 HRs in consecutive plate appearances? jesus...

anyway, Ike's gotten 3 back - it's 7-6, Bears leading the Cubans, bottom 4th inning. nice to see Ollie Perez relieving Fernando Nieve, then pitching exactly like Nieve was...or, exactly like Ollie does. you pick.

well there ya go - the Phils and Yanks series were the exception that proves the rule. another road series lost. Corey Hart is something else. we do need to address the 5th spot in the roatation IMMEDIATELY. Nieve ain't a starter. never was. never will be. Perez is awful, and at this point they're gonna need to shop around, unless there's one more miracle in the minors.

oh, and what's with Igarashi? different pitcher off of surgery. that's a shame, he looked like he might really be something back in April.

anyway, grab one on getaway day and off to sunny San Diego.

I believe Neise is due back by the time his next start is to happen. Nieve was just a stop gap for the moment. Iragashi was a little slow to start when the season started, might just need a few more games to get back into the swing. Perez really needs to go to make way for someone who can pitch.
