Any truth to the rumor that all the wind is from Wright whiffing so much?

amazing stat: his first four full years in the league, he struck out between 113-118 times each season. that's incredible consistency.

last year: 140

this year: on pace for 211

Chris Carter came out to Hulk Hogan's theme song (I am a real American...) last night before capping off the 6-run rally to take the lead.
Best walking to the plate music ever.

dammit, Pelf not having his best start of the year. not his worst, and he's worked out of trouble (a few too many times) but 4 earned runs over 5 innings on 105 pitches is unacceptable, even with the 6 Ks.

always a bad sign when you load the bases, strike out the next two batters, then surrender a 2-RBI hit to the opposing pitcher... :bang:

Nats 4-2 Mets, middle 5th.

wow, Manuel shows confidence - lets Pelf lead off the 5th even though he's over the magic 100 count. Pelf thanks him by making the first out of the inning, then his teammates pick him up, tie the game, and may put him in position for the win? this is unheard of!

ok, there's my Mets. Reyes on 2nd, Bay at the plate, just one out. not only does Bay manage to make an out, but the Nats shrewdly eliminate Reyes rather than Bay, thus taking the runner OUT of scoring position while recording the inevitable out.

ooh, but D-Wright and Ike both walk, loading the bases for French! this could be good.

0-6 in rubber games. When we miss the playoffs compare how many games out we are to our record in rubber games. There WILL be a direct correlation.

KRod needs to serve up more HRs. So pathetic

11 of the next 14 games are within the division. Marlins, Atlanta, Nats, (three vs the Yankees), and then Phils. The boys better step up else they may find themselves a very long way out of first place.

"hey, this knuckleballer only threw 94 pitches through 6 innings, and our bullpen is exhausted. better yank him so Alex Cora can pinch-bunt the runner over to first!"

FIRE JERRY MANUEL NOW AND SEND OMAR MINAYA WITH HIM.

that, for me, was the last straw. the Mets get a quality start from a kid who threw 122 pitches his last AAA start, and they yank him FOR A SACRIFICE BUNT????? THE ONE THING EVERY PITCHER PRACTICES HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY DO WITH A BAT??????? it's one thing if you sniff a big inning and have a slugger pinch hit, looking to put up a crooked number, then lean on your overtaxed bullpen to give up less than you score. but this is idiocy. there are Little League coaches more deserving of the position than Jerry.

fuck 'em until they take care of this.

that said, i'd rather they won all three.

it's funny how after the Mets fired Willie Randolph and Rick Peterson the team just can't seem to stay healthy...any of you know if it's still the same medical team as before or was a new medical staff hired as well.

Manuel and Warthen need to go...now!!!

Mets Police guide to Citi Field for Yankees fans
By Shannon Shark

Hello Mr. Yankee Fan,

You will be a guest in Citi Field this weekend, so let me welcome you to the home of my favorite team.

Here are some tips so that you can maximize your enjoyment.

Where to meet: Look for a big red Apple. Apple is Flushingese for “the bat.” Tell your “boys” to meet you at the Apple.

Read it all.

Your pitcher will have to bat: The Mets play something called baseball, a game in which 9 players bat and field. You probably have some dude who isn

oh that was priceless.

We are honoring the 2000 Mets. Yep, I know Jeter will be there with his 2000 ring. Mets fans will be cheering for Mike Piazza. You may remember Mike, one of your true Yankees tried to attack him with a bat, Said true Yankee was 192-111 with Boston in the course of 13 seasons, but I don’t want to bring that up and upset the girl who does your radiocast, she could start crying.
