My favorite meeting is my homegroup. It's called Tuesday Night Sobriety,in Blackwood, NJ, we are no longer A.A. . We had complaints because we allowed people to talk about drugs! This meeting changes every week. One week is a speaker, one week open discussion, next a step meeting. We have about 12 homegroup members but we are usually standing room only. Meetings are the cornerstone of my sobriety, I can't get through the week without this one.

I frickin hate when people bark at others in AA meetings when they speak about their drug experiences. As far as I know, alcohol is a drug but if I was to bring that up it would be pointed out to me that the very subject is written about in the AA lit.
That being said, I've found AA to be the best for me vs other 12 step groups. I find the program to be more welcoming and available than the others and I only attend AA meetings. I am lucky however, to live in an area where it is ok to talk about drugs in addition to alcohol during meetings. If that wasn't the case I hate to think where my recovery would be right now if I couldn't talk about my alcohol AND drug addictions.

I like the one I go to in Utica because it's "A.A." in name but in reality an N.A. meeting. I haven't been in a few weeks, I should go back though. It's for people 25 and under(there are certainly people there quite a bit older though) which is cool because sometimes it's intimidating to go into a meeting where everyone has tons of sobriety under their belt and they can be condescending and unwelcoming at time. It's hard to get to though, it's Saturdays at 3.

You go to the Harry House meeting? Do you go to Monday nights at St. James?
I do go to The Harry House meeting - yes. I usually don't go to Stratford Men's on Mondays but I was actually there yesterday. I believe I heard you share about the VIBE. I should have introduced myself.
