Yes sir, Vibes too...although that sounds like a shortish afternoon set...this show sounds like a full 2 set extravaganza.

Yeah? Strangefolk reunion headlining over Phil Lesh & Friends or Weir & Hornsby w/special guest Branford (both confirmed for Friday night according to the ticketing page)?

I think not on that.

You can get a pretty good idea of their slot by how far down the list of bands they are...I'm guessing 75 minute set late afternoon...

In these strange times New England needs its own strangeness as a beacon, made up of stranger folk. Not a school of Phish, but its own Strangefolk!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :fritos: :headspin: :lady: :afro: :queen:

It was good! Thanks Carl. However, the BB show was a completely different animal than the VT and ME shows. It seemed to me like they were getting warmed up, dialed in, whatever you want to call it. The difference between what I saw in Brooklyn and what I saw Friday in VT was remarkable. Hard to believe guys that had not played together for 12 years could have ramped up so fast.

By the time they got to VT they were incredibly tight, with some pretty gorgeous jams.

I agree with Mel...Saturday was a rage fest...but Friday was *the* show for me. Incredible jamming...the Jon Trafton quartet. I got 3 fuckin' Rather Go Fishins last week fer chrisssakes. And I am NOT complaining.

There were over $5 in fees per ticket which sucked. So I ended paying more than $35 anyways.

If anyone wants I can try to pick tickets up at the box office to avoid fees online.

I listened to the BB show yesterday. It's nice for nostalgia sake and good to hear some of those tunes again. And I'm sure the energy at these shows was incredible. But are we really gonna sit here and pretend that the musicianship in AOD is not far superior?

Trafton blows Adam away in my opinion. Once AOD lost Nate Wilson, I stopped caring. Plus, Glock sings some of my favorite 'Folk songs and AOD is the Reid show. The Higher Ground show Folk JAMMED hard as a unit, something AOD has never seemed to accomplish .

No need to pretend, as Trafton and Luke Smith are far, far superior to their AOD counterparts, and these are the guys who wrote and performed the songs, not a cover band led by Reid.

Add to that the incredible jamming that developed from Thurs>Saturday, like nothing I have ever seen in the many AOD shows, and it's really no contest.

I have been to some pretty hot AOD shows at the old Higherground when it was in Winooski. I lived right up the hill. Some folks here can attest to it. They stayed at my house. :bouncey:

I guess I'm ok with a band led by Reid. But I would disagree that Trafton is a better player then Adam Terrell. As far as who wrote the songs I'm pretty sure strangfolk didn't give songwriting creds to any one member. But I think it's fair to assume Reid penned most, if not all, of the songs he sang and brought to AOD with him. And like I said I'm sure the energy of the band and the crowd was off the charts. But the musicianship of the players limits the jams in my opinion. Reid didn't really leave strangefolk to de a dentist.

Edit to say that I will say AOD took a big step down when they lost Nate.
