Tonight is a cooking expedition! It is my first time making a Persian meal - rice with tahdeeg and sauteed chicken breast studded with marinated garlic and served with tahini and sumaq, served with a cilantro/olive loaf - can't wait to dig in!

Definitely want to make that one for some guests... I'm thinking of having a little Persian New Year gathering next spring. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't too difficult, either... Just takes a lot of steps to put together. It's on my favourites list now!

i've been cookin up a storm lately with my daughter and her boyfriend here - braised short ribs (1st time ever) with gnocchi and a marinated bean salad. sofa king yum!
last night i made fried grouper fish fingers, maggie made tartar sauce, quinoa with fresh corn, thyme and garlic chives and a salad from the garden with cukes, tomatoes, avacados, balsamic.
another night we had salmon on a bed of fresh spinach with lemons and garlic all baked together - so easy and quite delish!
made a batch of lemon basil pistachio cookies too!
think we're having a bonfire tonight so we'll cook up some hot dogs ourselves and some s'mores!!

i wouldn't let people serve themselves because i had to add the garnish to the bowls after i ladled out the soup... so i kept running from the living room to the kitchen as more people arrived. phew! worth the effort tho

I think there may be some pasta with white clam sauce in my near future - yum!
Tonight is a NY strip bbq's and served with salad and sauteed mushrooms, onions and garlic. Got the sautee pan on and I'm enjoying some red vino, gonna go add some to the pan as well!

Not having the best of days today, so I am drowning my sorrows with some cooking - Persian rice with a tahdeeg and sauteed chicken breasts are on the menu for this evening.
hope your day got better! after that meal, it'd be hard not too

Tonight we are trying to make Buffalo chicken wings - we got this gadget made by T-Fal that "deep fries" food using only a tbsp of oil. I'm hoping we can make some killer wings with it!!!
