some shows are seated (imho = major tehsuck :moon: )
most music shows are GA with some seating around the perimeter
i like the venue
last i went, you could still get two beverages and the atlantic across the street is always a plus in my book
but you have to be careful cuz the cops are really itchin to fuck with people and the station abuts the rear of the casino, literally overlooking the "lot scene"

they oversell the eff outta there and it can get realllly hot if they dont open the doors for a crossbreeze
booze is expensive but not more than the typical 'expensive' imho

there is no re-admittance and not enough bathrooms so plan ahead

its less than an hour from me so probably an hour and a half from you in worcester, i am guessing?

not much to eat around there so plan to stop somewhere along the way

as previously stated, pre-game locally at your own risk
i have been told that they sit at the police station with binoculars

:going to check the schedule now:

The cop shop's top floor is an open room with windows and binocular posts, where they direct foot patrols via radios. The last time we were there they arrested a 48yr old college professor friend for an open container, mind you they were not drunk and offered to comply in any way. The owner of the lot will not let anyone put up a quick-up not even for rain and is rude and insulting. I will never go back to that cesspool of new world order types. Up until 07 it was one of the kindest venues in the northeast, but those days are long gone. I must say this though, the staff of the Casino are as great as always. My wife had an emotional breakdown and could not go in with us. When I realized what happened I raced back outside to her. I explained the situation to security and with the help of some folks on Ratdog's crew(a lot of help I might add) they not only let me back in with her, but up the back stairs instead of making us go around the front. I still won't go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :picardfp:

My advice there is to get in early and grab a table in the back where there is cocktail service. The table section is elevated, so you get a better view of the stage than on the floor. The bar service there is the slowest I've seen anywhere since they changed the rules to 1 drink per person a few years ago. I've waited 20+ minutes in line to get a beer. Another reason why you want to get their early is the lines to get in can be extremely long. It has taken me 30 minutes before to get into a show.

Bouncers/staff there take on the attitude of the local PD......very aggressive assholes. I personally have never had an issue with them, but it gets a bit annoying/uncomfortable at times being around the tough guy mentality. I've also never had an issue with the local PD, but they are by far the worst police you will ever encounter anywhere. All of the new police academy grads in the state are sent to Hampton. So, most are young, super aggressive and take extreme joy in arresting people to prove their merit.

That all said, I generally have a good time at the shows. There's a ton of energy in that room, so bands usually throw down.

wow, I had no idea
I'm pretty sure we have assigned seats - (if that's possible?)
I didn't buy the tickets
so you can't go up to the bar and buy a round - you gotta go up 1 by 1 ?

yup drinks are 1 per customer at a time at the bar.

They usually have some waitresses that wil do the tables but they come back pretty infrequently.

The sound is notoriously sucky in there it is a rectangle like a shoe box so only directly in front of the stage to the back of the room and usually by the back of the room stage left (as you look at it) is good.

Donot attempt to smoke they will toss you out.

ladies room on rt of stage mens on left.

If you have assigned seats i would say get there at the last minute....if a GA show get there early and get a table behind sound board.

some shows they put tables on the dance floor and cram as many people in as possible to each table (no arm/leg room)

No real good food at the beach.....i usually go to Le Beck rouge to eat and drink preshow.

agree on all of the above. hampton's also pretty trashy :funny1:

HOWEVER if you get kicked out like certain boardies who shall remain nameless you can sit on the beach across the street & still listen.

ok I don't think we'll be interested in drinking in a lot
a bar nearby will do...
are there places inside to kind of chill out away from your seat/crowd ?

The best part is it's across the street from the beach, so if you drink too much you have a place to bury your barf bag.

It's awful. We went for Yes and were seated at a rickety table with 14 people. The space could have comfortably seated 10. Just getting up to go to the bathroom was a major hassle. It was really uncomfortable.

We won't go back there except for shows that are 100% GA. Which kills me because I really want to see Joe Bonamassa.

March 30, 2012 3:11 PM
HAMPTON — Tonight's season-opening Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom show featuring Levon Helm and Los Lobos has been postponed.
The Casino Ballroom posted the following message today:
"Levon Helm and Los Lobos postponed. Please help spread the word (crushing news for us) but: Unfortunately, tonight's Levon Helm show at the Casino Ballroom is being postponed until July 17.

"Levon has a slipped disk in his back, and despite therapy, it hasn't healed enough for him to move freely enough sit at the drums for any length of time.

"Levon would like to assure everyone that his health otherwise has been excellent as of late. Levon and the band have had a strong run of touring this past month and were very much looking forward tonight's show at the Casino Ballroom. Levon and the band are eager to come back July 17 and give you a great show.
"We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
Tickets for the March 30th show will be honored for the new show on July 17th. Refunds, for those that cannot make the new date, will be available at point of purchase."

Figures seeing the hitler youth doesn't arive until Memorial Day and stays through labor day. Pretty cool for a town that survives on the tourist trade? When I called the chamber of comerce to complain they had to be the rudest public reps I have ever spoken to. If you don't have a lot of money and depend on hanging in the lot before a show you are a target period. At one time Ratdog would only play there before May 31 or after labor day weekend, but the Casino Ballroom and not Bobby changed that and like I stated before THE RUDEST parking lot owner I have ever met, guess he forgot who paid for the new Caddy he was driving at the time. I did find out that it was the state and not Hampton Beach community that enacted all these protocols to raise money for the state in the last eight years. Live Free And Die>unless you can post bail that is.
