F-all local. So-so if your willing to travel. I haven't gone out on a call in awhile. Been doing side work, making almost near the same money even. (minus the L.U perks of course)

glad to hear you're getting by.

tons of union work here in the albany ny area. They're building a huge microchip manufacturing facility a little bit north in Malta.

Unfortunately, I injured myself on that job and am in the process of recovering now. At first it seemed like a rotator cuff problem, but turns out that was just a secondary symptom, and the main problem is my spine (neck) and ribs, and muscle weakness in my back... dealing with some severe pain right now... but hopefully it'll be better in a few weeks... at worst a few months. Good to see ya around.

Had the Super Stout at Amherst brewing Company this past weekend and it was deee-lish!

Fun fact: did you know you don't pronounce the "h" in Amherst?

Tyler tried Ommegang Brewery's "Three Philosophers" last night... Neither of us really liked it. It's got a real sour aftertaste that just didn't please either of our palates.

That's because it's part lambic.

We didn't know that when he ordered it - had we known, it would have stayed in the keg!

We've had sour beer before (Panil, there's an earlier post about that in this thread) which tasted unpleasantly sour on it's own, but the flavour really rounded out and was enjoyable when paired with salty meats as was suggested to us. We had gravlax and salt-cured capers with the 3 Philosophers, but it still didn't taste good to either of us.

Cross that one off the list. :fierce:

Green Flash double stoudt is one of the best stoudts I had in a while.

I'll keep an eye out and give it a try if I find it. :)

I had the Pleasure of Trying Russian River's elusive Pliny the Younger this weekend. Currently rated as the 'best beer in the world' on beer advocate. Absolutely amazing.

Tonight's pint... Lagunitas WTF "Jobless Recovery Ale" :funny1: Tastes like an IPA (ie: not malty enough to score a 10 in my book) but it's a dark ale, go figure...

Enjoying the 2011 'Fuller's Vintage Ale' (8.5%) again tonight.

Sour sage x diesel & a half dozen Fuller's, a lot of live JGB and I really see no reason to even look outside, let alone leave the house tonight.

Mmm... Gonna keep an eye out for that Pangea - I loves me some ginger.

As for recent beer discoveries (even tho these aren't really "strong beers") I have to say that Sea Dog Blueberry > Wachusetts Blueberry. Mmmmm... Tasty summer blueberry beer, and this is from someone who does NOT like fruit and/or wheat beers!
