Thanks peeps! Lots of good ideas. Will incorporate these into my Vibes weekend of fun.

As for the heat this past year... we never even set the tent up. We just slept on our sleeping pads under the EZ-Up.

Prolly a fire extinguisher if you are in family camp... :bowl:

A shotgun with birdshot if you are in family camping and you see Chinese laterns flying over head.

Cheap solar garden lights are a great way to make a path that doesn't bring people over your tent guy lines. I find having a roll of duct or gaffers tape always comes in handy. If you have the space, a portable jump start box saves you when you're using the car radio, and is a handy place to charge a phone.

yes you do, carla...you will forever be my hero when we were setting up velcro (i think it was the first year back in seaside? )
anyway, it was HOT and setting up was sweaty and annoying and you appeared like an angel, offering us popsicles from your dry ice-filled cooler of icy wonders
:clapping:
it was the best popsicle ever :bliss:

Dr.Bronner's Peppermint Soap is the tittybombs for cooling down in the shower at a hot fest. Biodegradable, too.

For the record, Dougie never made it out to Furthur at Coney Island.. / CMU (whatever venue that was). He gets a bad enough rap as it is, let's not pin stuff on him he had nothing to do with :)

I saw this on fb the other day and want to try it. You put a head lamp around a gallon of water it makes a cool ambient lantern that won't hurt your eyes.

Bury the headlamp in the ground, and place water directly on top of the light. Even cooler!

Bottle of vodka (.. Smirnoff? Could it have been Smirnoff?) with a Sprite chaser got crushed on the hour-long subway ride there... Headache on the way home was damn near unbearable... When we made it to manhattan from BK, I said "fuck it boys, we're getting off at canal street and we're fuckin' cabbing it back to Queens. I can't take another freakin' minute on this god damn subway."

Rare form...

Skip sleeping then you don't need to haul tent, sleeping bag, etc.

Skip eating...then you don't have to bring food...eating utensils...pots (the metal kind), pans....

tent heater to keep tent dry at night

fan for daytime napping

beef (or veggie) jerky for quick meals

baby wipes

loose sweats for sleeping

but seriously, room service and a bathroom would be nice too.

camping with tabbooma is key .. he's always ready to serve up a hot meal and big smile. <3

Food that doesn't need to be cooked is a must.  save the gourmet camp cooking for camping where you don't have to miss music to cook.

I made some nice mochachinos put them in little gatorade bottles and froze them, they were awesome and I didn't have to mess around with making coffee in the morning.

I have the rubermaid bin for everything that's little and doesn't have it's own case, easier than looking all over the car for little things that get missplaced.

I DON'T CARE IF IT'S 900 DEGREES OUT...I'M MAKING COFFEE!!! :joker: But yeah....any food that is going to take away from music to prep n cook should be done at home and just heated up....I really don't wanna hear about how "the chicken is gonna go bad and we gotta do this and that..." at the main stage while trying to listen to awesome music...kills the mood ya know.

We finally broke down and bought a Little Buddy Space Heater - it works great.  Hippie Mick did tell me that when I put it away for the winter to wrap it in a plastic garbage bag....little spiders will crawl into it and lay eggs in it.....it happened to him twice....
