Thanks lady! It's a nice distraction from all the other shit that is going on. 
We got our save the dates by UPS today...Rich got them all ready for when I get home. My little wedding planner.
Invitations are a go, too. We bought those and got new ink. After I built some on David's Bridal and they came to $400...we decided buying some and doing them ourselves would be cheaper (and more fun!)

Georgi,
My friend Kelly made her own invitations.
So cute, it was a little computer program that you put the disk in, filled in the information, then printed!
So easy!
The card stock was already hole punched...and all we needed to do was attach the clear frosted part to the card stock and we added a really cute fall leaf hot glued in between the two sheets.
I still have it and will take a pic if you wanna see it

The sample invitations we made look professional! It's pretty cool! I'm stoked that we got away with both invitations and save-the-dates for way less than what the "professional" ones cost!
I did see some cute ones on etsy that I really liked, but those would have came out to a lot as well. Oh well. I'm happy with what we got!

definitely save the money saved for something that means a lot more to you than invitations. with so many cute but inexpensive options there is NO reason to pay hundreds of dollars these days!

I'm an Etsy machine lately. Found a bunch of cute stuff that I can't WAIT to purchase. Also got some ideas on what I want to do for favors.
Rich and I are thinking of going the cupcake route for our cake...found a cute place near the house on the Cape that we are going to go to and try out some flavors.

Wow! Those are cute! I love them!
I originally wanted to do something like this:
We only have about 50 guests since we are keeping it small, so we think cupcakes would be the better route to go (and a little less expensive than a wedding cake).
We found a place that has really neat tasty sounding flavors, and they can do beach theme toppings, like chocolate shells and starfish and things, so we are going to check them out.
I like these ones a lot...but the colors would be different.

Don't mind the starfish on this one. ahahahaha I'd want mine to look better like the above, but I like the "sand" look of this one:

We are still going to the Cape this weekend. Flowers and cupcakes are on the agenda. I need some quiet relaxing beach time, too. I'm in desperate need of the ocean and the beach.
Tonight I think we are going to look at wedding rings. The one I've had my eye on has gone on sale, and Rich got a coupon in his email, AND, there is a promotion going on, buy one, get one free, so we could make out pretty good on rings if all goes well.
I've been thinking about doing something to honor my Father at our wedding. I know how much he wanted to be there for it. He was very much looking forward to it. I'm thinking of finding a nice picture of him to be on display, but I also want to do something more. So back to brainstorming.

I've been to weddings where they light a special candle during the ceremony to honor those who couldn't be there. You could also dedicate a song or poem to him. That really sucks that you have to figure this out and that he couldn't just be there.

we have friends who honored the brides father by leaving his chair empty with a single rose and a picture of him on it.
Still trying to think of something. I have a few ideas. I just want to make sure it's special.

at our wedding, we honored our loved ones by having our celebrant say and now let us have a moment of silence in memory of Elayne's parents xxx and xxx, Chase's grandfather xxx, Elayne's uncle and aunt xxx and xxx, and Elayne's uncle xxx.

I was thinking something like that. Also, my Dad loved to set up our umbrellas on the beach. I was thinking of maybe having them set up with the chairs underneath. That was his favorite spot. He loved sitting there, and then watching everybody else's umbrellas blow away while ours never moved. He was the umbrella putter upper master. He would chase after other people's and show them how to put them in. We joked that he was the Umbrella Lifeguard.

Tried my dress on again over the weekend. My Mom and brother's wife wanted to see it. Fits a little looser! I forgot how much I loved it (since it's being kept upstairs in my old closet for safe-keeping!)
