Check out the free site (up to 20,000 emails monthly) mailchimp.com, turn those emails into sales. The site allows you to send out mass mailings very easily and even has 100's of templates for setting up emails, link to twitter and facebook, even see who opened, deleted or subscribed to your bands emails.

best way I found to upload mass emails into categories is to set up a dummy gmail account and make a categories in Mailchimp like "fans" then upload all your fans emails to gmail export them to mailchimp, delete them from gmail and set up another category, like "promoters" that way you can send specific emails and monitor them on a daily basis.
