years have passed, kids born, marriages.. unraveled... then by fate you cross paths

its exciting and depressing at the same time....

But, we are going out weekend after the one coming up

and she is as if not more beautiful then so many years ago

there's a kicker but I'll save that for later

I ran into my fisrt grade-all through high school crush a couple months ago.
He still looks fine, we chatted for about an hour after the gas station had closed.
However, he is most happily into his second marriage, and I wish him much happiness.

brief backstory.... found her on Facebook... she had a "married" last name so I Just said a quick hello, assuming she was married... *bad move* I should have inquired further.... as she is/was divorced...

However, when I bumped into her sister last weekend, and I was telling her how crazy about L I was... she was like... oh man, she just starting dating this guy too....

Sooooooooo.... we'll see - we are going out for an afternoon lunch... and if things go well, then she'll have some decisions to make

welllll she had attempted to try and work things out with the baby daddy (4 yr old) but apparently that soured about 3 months in (been there, done that )

So last month we got to talking a bit... it was about 2 weeks before I realized/she revealed it hadn't worked out - the thing that kinda put the kaibosh on us seeing each other way back when I started this thread.
So after more talking we decided to go on the date we "meant" to go on many years ago.

We hit it off instantly... she does not mind that I am a little on the CrAzY side... and that helps.

Distance, is a factor, of course - but we're getting together again next weekend... since apparently I was too much of a gentleman last weekend.

update for whatever, we've gone out a few times, and at the risk of sounding... whatever, she seems really into me... perhaps a bit too much for a 200 mile round trip and two lives firmly entrenched in their own routines... ..... and yes, we... well.... you know

she's a super awesome person... I may have given the wrong impression earlier (re the lunch date and shit).

it's quite the quandry... but not really... it can only be a casual thing... makes no sense in trying to have a relationship - with that kind of distance and NO chance of either party relocating.. right?

as a young man, my sisters all called me "sailor" as I had girlfriends in a few different towns...at the same time.

I guess my only quandry is that of my being EXTREMELY fond of my independence, and I need to have a talk with her about expectations, and reality. I go to CT about once per month.... but do not want to have to "live in a cave with my dick in my hand" the remainder of the time.

Long distance love can be really exciting and fun! I hated it, but at the same time loved that longing and firey passion when you finally see eachother again!

But I agree with you, both parties NEED to be on the same page in order for it to work. A long distance situation will never work if she expects more from you than you're willing to give.

But don't get set in your ways. I had the same attitude toward it when I was going into my relationship. I had learned to be fiercely independent and loved traveling on my own and going out every night. But when I met my boyfriend and slowly but surely fell in love with him, I started to want to spend my time with him. The life that I thought I was loving was missing something. Now I'm happy as a clam sitting on the couch in our appartment hanging with our cats. Too think I would have passed that up just to keep partying it up and livin' the life with out stopping to realize the connection I had scares me a lot.

I guess what I'm trying to say is just have fun with it and don't over think it and try not to ignore a good thing because it might cramp your style.

We are both firmly entrenched in our Jobs. She has young children in school... I have a job I can not leave (long story... legal stuff) and a teen daughter in school.

If she is cool with the wild occasional weekend romance stuff.... I am too...
