I know the folks at Terrapin probably won't like this but I was able to get rid of the banners by creating a filter in adblock plus (firefox).

If your using firefox:

Right click banner > view image info > copy url (only up to /banners)

Ad Blockplus >(left panel) filter preferences > add filter group (give it a name) > (right panel) > add filter > paste banners url > re-fresh ff

Banners gone.

they do work, but some of them have probably changed a bit or didn't carry over correctly... if you're looking for this one apparently it's : foo : without the spaces: :foo:
