But, it's so worth it for all the crab I ate last night.
TASB, is that really you? Jesus dude. Are you still doing P90x? The ab workout in that program may be one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life.

jagermonster wants to hit tasb.
Had a soccer game yesterday. I am so out of shape. I couldn't move after 15 minutes. I am so sore today. Tomorrow shouldn't be much better.
I had 2 tennis practices cancelled this weekend. On Saturday because it was too cold (too cold? wtf?) and on Sunday because of the rain. Went to the gym and did 40 mins of HIIT instead. Got lower body (legs and lower back) tonight.

So does anyone else supplement their workouts with yoga? I have some questions..
To tell you the truth I don't get the same burnout working yourself sweating to the oldies feeling I get with normal workout or even palates as I do with yoga. I just use yoga as an additive after I workout or on a off day sort of activity.

Monday did chest and ran about 3.76 miles in a half an hour.
Back and crazy ab routine today. 30 minutes on the bike=10.01 miles
With my shaved head, I look like a freaking army kid. I can't tell if I'm getting any bigger, though. Thinking the protein stuff will help.
Sorry for gratuitously posting me pics, but I figure this is the safest place to do so.

Anyone want to suggest a particular protein supplement? I don't know what to look for really...should I go see a nutritionist first?

Legs today.
For the first time since I started being able to run a half hour straight, I simply wasn't able to today. I think it's because I really tried to work my legs hard with weights and I pushed myself really hard on the bike yesterday and on the treadmill the day before.
You can't have your best day every day, I guess.
I also ordered the 5 lb whey protein deali-o off of the internet. Psyched about that.

Tennis tonight if I don't fall asleep first.

I really have gained a loving appreciation for running, though. Ah well...another opportunity to grow, yes?
Plus, swimming is a whole body workout.

Shoulders yesterday, arms today. Ran for about 25 minutes yesterday. I don't know what I did, but my right knee does NOT feel good. I'm going to take a break from running and hit the pool today after my weight workout.

Sounds like a triathlete in the making...

He recommended that I rest it to see if there's any pain after that, just to be safe. He also complimented and told me that he notices that I bust my ass on the treadmill.
I'm actually thinking of a triathlon...but not anywhere in the near future. I'd really have to train for that.

But I made it, so I suppose I can do 3 no problem. There is a competition with this, but I think only the top 3 from each team count in the competition and there are some pretty serious runners on the team, so I don't have to worry about time. Just finish and go to the afterparty...

Nice!!!
I'm going to the gym in about half an hour. Going to test out my knee for the first time in a few days. NJFunk...I'm also interested in giving a race a shot.
Well, I won't be "racing" so much as just going for a run with hundreds of other people around me, and then going to a party with my coworkers afterwards where I don't have to worry about smelling bad. Seems like a win-win all around.

Nice work, ladies.
I had a busy week last week and was not able to weight train. However, I did play soccer so I did get my cardio on. Back at it this week, starting tomorrow.
Yeah, my season starts next weekend (on the 18th), so I am officially in season now and cutting back weight training to 1 day a week in favor of more tennis and agility drilling on off days (and maybe a couple more runs until this 5k is over).
Still losing the spare tire, though, and doing my abs workouts, so a six pack by summer is not out of the question.

If you really want to learn to kick ass, bjj is the shit. the bjj guys know how to kill you. (judo evolved from bjj, but its focus leans more toward character development). The first video at the link below was obviously made by a fan of the dojo. I like places that teach kids. I think every kid should study a martial art, at some point.

The krav maga kids also kick ass. Krav maga borrows some from bjj:

Krav maga is far more street application, day-to-day than anything steeped in martial arts philosophy. But it works.
Any martial art has its strong points. Some are more philosophy-oriented. Some use weapons more. Most folks wear padding; competitively, they are a young people's game. Older, formerly competitive judoka (judo players) tend to have some hardware, messed up hands, blown out knees, jaws, etc. Blood, sweat and tears is really nice, but there's no need to break anything while you're learning.
