I did that once. Was not satisfied with the quality. Now I only buy meat from the local butcher shops.

that just over 2 lbs of beef (half is ground), 1 lb of chicken, and 1 lb pork and about half lb of fish and about 1.5 of hot dogs.
That's about $10 per pound.... for mostly hot dogs, burger, stuffed fish and chicken.

They have some good stuff. The bacon-wrapped sirloins are good, filets awesome, and the burgers are to die for but get the 5oz burgers, not those 4oz mini-things so you have enough meat to cook it rare.

But why would you order fish from a midwest steak place? And anything that isn't beef is overpriced and nothing special. And c'mon, "gourmet franks" are just friggen hot dogs.

Omaha Steaks is for custies. Any decent butcher will have the same quality or better for half the price.

I generally go to Henry's Market (formerly Salem's Market) in Bennington, River Valley Market in Wilmington and I used to frequent The Jacksonville General Store when the Washburns owned it.

Randy got an Omaha steaks gift pack for her birthday last year. Nothing was better quality than good meat from our local butcher (Meat House what what!), but the filets were better than what we can get at the supermarket. the burgers were nothing special, the sirloin was nothing special, and the dogs were just ok. We have yet to thaw the chicken, because it's frozen chicken.

We did really like the caramel apple tarts.

Not worth the $$, in my opinion, and the amount of packaging that goes into the order, including a HUGE, thick-walled styrofoam cooler, cardboard boxes for each item, and then freezer bags inside the cardboard, well, it makes lunchables look like a green choice.

They also have the most annoying telemarketers that call you all the time, once you place an order with them.
